Setting up Bitbucket 7.1 Data Center on Windows 2019

Kevin Chan March 17, 2020

Set up a three tier system on W2019, Bitbucket apps/web portal, MS cluster file servers, and MS SQL Server 2017 standalone with Always-on.  Trying to add 2nd Bitbucket apps/web portal to the apps cluster but I didn't see any document related to Windows server.  I only see document for Linux platform.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Windows is not supported for Bitbucket DC, so that is why all documentation relates only to Linux.

See the list of supported platforms here - https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/supported-platforms-776640981.html

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Oh well.  I guess so. Then, the Bitbucket Windows installer should not have the Data Center install option at all.   Thank you for the info

Known issues

  • Microsoft Windows is not supported for Bitbucket Data Center / 500+ Enterprise tiers.

Yeah, hope you didn't sink too much time into it.

Agreed that Bitbucket Data Center shouldn't have an option for Windows, but I gather that's because it's the 1 code base packaged into different installers, and nobody has thought about it. Might raise a feature request on JAC for you

Understand.  I guess a warning message in the installer or readme.txt.  Thanks
