That's because it is an invalid directory. Bitbucket does not have the software required to read <arbitrary type of file system> built into it, it relies on the operating system to do what the operating system is supposed to - provide a disk location for it.
You'll need to mount the smb directory on the server so that it becomes a proper part of the file system.
