We migrated visual studio project from perforce to bitbucket.
Teams started working on project(visual studio as IDE) and updated few files(mostly .cpp) containing special characters(†, “ etc.) and found that on updating contents other than these characters lead to auto changes to these files encoding affecting special characters.
These files were maintained as ANSI encoding in perforce and also maintained same encoding initially after migration to bitbucket but some how these encoding got converted to UTF-BOM and now were are facing this issue whenever similar files are getting updated.
We are not sure how to maintain these files encoding and need help for retaining the affected files and if there is a way to control encoding at bitbucket level.
