Downgrade from Datacenter license to Server license


Hi Atlassian Support,

Our bitbucket server is currently in a status we don't know how to upgrade. Please help us!

We bought the license below before, the support period is ended:

Bitbucket (Server) 100 Users: Academic License Renewal
- Support Entitlement Number: SEN-5981117
- Support Period: 03 Jul 2019 - 03 Jul 2020

But recently, because of some new vulnerability reported, we urgently upgraded our server to a new version v7.9.1 and applied a trail datacenter license temporarily. It is still a non-cluster single node instance for sure.

We have decided to extend our server license for another two years, but our question is, if we extend our server license's support period, I assume the license we can download will still be a server license. But can we apply the updated server license on our current instance which has been with the trail datacenter license applied? We have huge data in the server, to reinstall will not be an acceptable option. We want a solution to upgrade without data lost to the latest LTS version and apply the extended server license.

You'll need to talk to Atlassian to get your server licence renewed (you can't get new licences any more, but you can still extend existing ones)

You will find a new key for Server will work fine on your system.  The licences affect functionality flags (you'll lose access to archiving when you go from DC to server for example) and user access (the licence determines maximum number of active users), but not the code or data.
