Do I need "bitbucket post webhooks" specifically for Jenkins to bitbucket connections?

Colin_McDermott July 15, 2023

We are using bitbucket post webhooks addon for some webhooks for some projects from bitbucket to Jenkins.

I can't see what this addon does that isn't standard bitbucket functionality. So I am looking to remove it (recognising that this addon probably does provide some features. We don't need them). We were using the "free" version then was forced to upgrade to paid

Curious if anyone else has removed this addon and if they have any experience with it.

Hi @Colin_McDermott ,

Which functionalities of the plugin do you use?

Bitbucket does offer a good webhooks solution, but the amount of trigger events is quite limited. All depends on what's useful in your use case. For example, in  Webhook to Jenkins solution we added manual triggering of jobs, project-level settings, and additional configuration options.

If you'd like to chat more, feel free to reach out to me. I'd love to hear more about your use case of using webhooks and maybe can advise something. Full disclosure- I do work for Appfire.
