Bitbucket datacenter installation, error with database

nirmalshankar April 24, 2017

We are trying to install bitbucket datacenter in 3 nodes (we have one postgresql server and and database called "bitbucket" created for the intallation)

We got the node one up by connecting to the DB server

When we moved on to the second server we are getting this error (assuming that we can still connect to the same database as it would be shared for bitbucket datacenter)

"The target database contains tables whose names collide with Bitbucket's tables. Please migrate to a clean, empty database"

Hi,

Based on that message, I'm guessing that when you start the second node you're prompted to go through the same initial setup and configuration as you did on the first node. This should not be the case as the second node should pick up the configuration from the shared NFS mount. Can you confirm that the nodes all have the same NFS mount at $BITBUCKET_HOME/shared and that there is a bitbucket.properties file present with the Data Center configuration?

More information on the install process is available at Installing Bitbucket Data Center.

Cheers,
Jeff
