Hello all,
We run an older version (5.2.2) and I am in the process of migrating to the cloud. When I search the marketplace for Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant (BCMA), the search always comes back with zero result.
Do I have to upgrade to a newer version of bitbucket before I can find the BCMA application in my marketplace? Also, I just realized that the license is expired, do I need to renew or just focus on the cloud migration and cloud licensing after migration?
Finally is an active license needed to start the cloud migration?
Thanks

Short story is "yes" - you need to be on Bitbucket 7 or above to install the assistant.
You can upgrade your Bitbucket to any version released before your licence expired - if you were in support on 8th March 2020, you can go to version 7.0! If your licence is too old to go to 7+, then you will need to talk to Atlassian about a renewal.

Hi @Gbadebo Ogunleye : I have joined a new organization and we are also working on Bitbucket server 5.2.2 while exploring a move to cloud.
I was researching around it, when I found this thread. Reaching out for your inputs in terms of how much time it took for your team to migrate Bitbucket server to Cloud. With some tentative timelines , we would also be able to plan accordingly.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.
