Send email using sendgrid API key

Hi,

I am trying to send an email after test failure using email-notify.

I am having an issue with authentication. email-notify suggests using basic authentication (username, password), but I have 2FA enabled, and basic authentication is not allowed in this case.
Is there a way to use API KEY to send an email instead of the basic authentication?

@Sona Harutyunyan hello!

right now email-notify pipe does not support two-factor. Because, For example, google has another procedure of authenticating and sending email.

Having heterogeneous authorization backend in many vendors sending email, it is not flexible to support just some authorization approach.

For such cases separate pipe could be created, sth like email-sendgrid.

To not wait for our implementation, If it is fine for you, we recommend to write custom pipe for your case https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/write-a-pipe-for-bitbucket-pipelines/

Follow examples presented in this doc for writing a new pipe.

Thank you for the answer :)

@Sona Harutyunyan  also, if this solution does not suit you, you can raise the ticket with type Suggestion and Component "Pipelines - Pipes Component" in https://jira.atlassian.com .

Depending on how many votes for this ticket we get, we will put this feature to an interest and implement it sooner.

Regards, Galyna
