Audit log export cannot be opened.

Hi,

I just received this question, have no idea and was hoping someone might be able to help.

There is a button for Export that allows you to export the Jira audit log to csv. Unfortunately when testing this, the export runs, but ability to open the file is blocked.  The export to CSV in a filter view runs just fine, so it’s as if there is something else embedded in the audit log csv that limits it from opening (trust center issue).

Is there a way to change the export type of the audit log to Excel?

Does anyone know of a workaround?

We resolved this by discovering this is happening because the first two characters match the first two characters of the SYLK file format which is ID.

To fix this, open the file in Notepad and modify ID to be anything else. The easiest way is to add another character. Save and close Notepad. Then it should open in Excel correctly.
