Change the product URL using a subdomain

Product URLs allow users to easily share links to specific places, projects, work items, boards, or dashboards, enabling collaboration and efficient project management.
👉 For example: Acme organization has Confluence on acmeus site. The site URL is acmeus.atlassian.net and the product URL for Confluence is acmeus.atlassian.net/wiki.
In Atlassian Cloud, the subdomain of a product URL is the part before atlassian.net. Only org admins can change a product URL’s subdomain.
👉 For example: The Green Mountain organization has the product URL greenmountain.atlassian.net/wiki. “greenmountain” is the subdomain of the site URL.
The site where you are making the change has to have Jira or Confluence product with a standard, premium, or enterprise plan. When you change URLs, the old URL will not be available for other sites. For that reason, you can't change to a URL that’s already in use or was used previously. Users visiting the previous URL are redirected to the new one. You can change a product URL up to 3 times only, after that the Update URL button will be greyed out. The URL change is for the entire site, you can't change the URL for each product separately in your site.
To change the product URL subdomain:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.net and select an organization.
  2. From the admin hub, select the Products tab.
  3. From the sidebar, select Product URLs.
  4. In the Default URLs tab, select Update URL for the site.
  5. Enter the new subdomain then select Continue.
  6. After reading the warning, select Update.

Change the product URL using a domain

You can only add a custom domain for Jira Premium, Confluence Premium or Jira Service Management Standard. Custom domain allows teams to access their Atlassian Cloud instances using a URL that reflects their own domain name rather than the default Atlassian-provided domain. Only org admins can add a custom domain, but only to products with paid plans.
👉 For example: Users of Acme organization can access products on go.help.acme.com rather than acme.atlassian.net.
Adding custom domains may impact apps and integrations used in Jira Service Management. You can't use a domain name that’s in use. The unique domain should also be public to ensure that customers who need the help desk can access all information. The fully qualified domain name needs to follow a specific format: subdomain2.subdomain1.site.com. Applinks use the default URLs instead of the custom domain URL.
To add a custom domain:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.net and select your organization.
  2. Select the Products tab.
  3. From the left sidebar, select Product URLs.
  4. Select the Custom domains tab.
  5. From the top right of the page, select Add custom domain.
  6. Select Next then from the Product dropdown select the product.
  7. Select Next again.
  8. Enter your domain details following the specified format.
  9. Optionally, enter a Redirect URL.
  10. Select Create domain.
The custom domain might take up to 30 minutes to be ready for use.

Changing the help center domain won't automatically change any email addresses associated to the help center. You can manage them directly in your Jira Service Management projects.

Choose a landing product

When users access a site, they will land in a specific product, which can either be Confluence or Jira. An org admin decides which product users will land in.
To set the landing product for a site:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com and select your organization.
  2. Select the Products tab.
  3. From the menu next to Add product, select Update landing product.
  4. In this window, you can select the Landing product for each site in your organization.
  5. Select Update.

If a user doesn't have access to the landing product of your site, they will still land in the selected product; however, they will see a prompt to request access to the product.
