Add products to a site
Org admins and site admins are the only users able to add products to sites. They can only add one instance of a product in each site.
To add a product to a site:
- From the admin hub, go to the Products section.
- From the top right of the page, click Add product.
- From the list of products, select the product you want to add to your organization, then click Select.
- Choose whether to create a new site or to use an existing one.
- Enter the new site name or select one of the existing ones.
- Click Add to add the product to your site.
If the selected product is already on all the sites in your organization, you will only have the option to create a new site.
What happens after you add a product?
Adding a product to your site will lead to the automatic creation of the default access group for that product.
馃憠 For example: Charlie, an org admin for the ACME organization, adds Jira to the acme site. Once he adds Jira, then Atlassian:
- Adds Jira to the acme site under a free trial plan.
- Redirects Charlie to the product setup page.
- Creates the default access groups for Jira:
- jira-users-acmeuk
- Jira-user-access-admins-acme-uk
- Creates the Jira Administration product.
- Creates the default access groups for Jira Administration:
- jira-admins-acmeuk
Remove products from your site
An org admin or site admin might need to remove a product from a site due to the lack of use or for billing reasons. They can do this by canceling the subscription of the product.
Canceling a product鈥檚 subscription will delete all its data. An org admin or site admin should export any data before removing the product as this step is irreversible.
To remove a product from your site:
- From the admin hub, go to the Billing section.
- Locate the product you want to remove, paying attention to the site name under the product, then click Manage to manage the subscriptions.
- Click the More actions menu (represented by 路路路), then select Delete. Review and confirm the deletion of the subscription.
Atlassian removes the product and cancels its subscription either immediately or after a given amount of time, as indicated in the confirmation message.
Maintain products on your site
The user who creates the new organization and site will see prompts to create or update configurations within the chosen product, in addition to the automatic configurations.
馃憞 Click the tabs below to learn about the prompts each product has.
If you add Jira as a product to your site, you鈥檒l see a prompt to create your first project.
Once you鈥檝e created your organization and site and added your products, you can choose to add more products. However, as mentioned, you can't add the same product twice.
馃憠 For example: Hal has three sites within his Woozelmania organization. When Hal goes to the pricing page and adds Confluence, he will see the site for woozle-france.atlassian.net, but not woozle-india.atlassian.net, or woozle-spain.atlassian.net as the sites already have the Confluence product.
馃憞This is the structure of the Woozelmania organization.
Cancel a site
If you aren't using a site, you may need to cancel it. An org admin can cancel any site. The site admin can only cancel the site they are administering.
To cancel a site:
- Go to admin.atlassian.com and select an organization if you have more than one.
- From the admin hub, go to Billing.
- Select Manage next to a product that belongs to the site you want to delete.
- In the lower right of the list of products, select Cancel subscriptions.
- Make sure to read the warning message then enter CANCEL into the text field to confirm.
- Click Cancel subscription.
Canceling a site subscription will remove all its products. We recommend org admins export any data in the products before canceling.
