Basic terms in Loom
Every Loom account comes with a workspace where you can collaborate with the rest of your team to watch, share, and edit videos together. Workspaces are created and managed by Loom admins.
Your workspace is broken down into a Library and Spaces:
- Library: This is where all the videos (referred to as Looms), meeting recordings, and screenshots you have created are stored. You can use folders in your library to stay organized. Everything in your library is private until you share it.
- Spaces: This is an area where people can post their content to share with others. A workspace may have several spaces within it. A space can be open or closed; open spaces are accessible to everyone in your workspace, while closed spaces are accessible by invitation only.
Workspace roles
Your Loom account has various roles based on your workspace plan:
- Viewers are free and can react to and comment on videos shared in a workspace, but they cannot record, upload, or edit videos.
- Creator Lites are free and can only record and edit.
- Creators' are paid roles and have full access to record, share, organize, upload, and edit videos to share.
- Members are paid roles and contain the same permissions as Creators.
- Admins have all the privileges of all the other roles, and access to manage Workspace settings and member roles. Every workspace needs at least one Admin. Admin accounts are priced at the same rate as Creators and Members accounts.

Use the sidebar to navigate within your workspace
Navigation within your Loom workspace is simple! You’ll find all of your navigation options in the left-hand sidebar, and a search bar along the top.

Find videos in Loom
In Loom, you can quickly locate any video you need, whether it's one you created or one shared by a colleague. You can use the search bar, folders, and recent activity features to find videos in Loom.

Use the search bar at the top of your Loom dashboard.
Simply type in keywords or phrases related to the video you’re looking for to search video titles, descriptions, and transcripts. If you know who created the video, you can search their name.
You can also search by video tags. Tags allow the grouping of videos by topic or conversation.
