Manage pages in Confluence
By the end of this lesson, you'll be able to:
- Move content within a space or to a new space
- Convert pages to the cloud editor
- Explain the difference between archiving and deleting content
- Use labels to make pages easy to find
- Gain insight from page analytics
- Troubleshoot page permissions
Move pages
If you move a parent page, all of its child pages move, too.
- On a page, select More actions (represented by ···), then Move.
- Select a space to move the page to.
- Select and drag the page within the space’s content tree.
- Select Move.
Convert pages to the cloud editor
Most elements on your pages convert seamlessly. However, there are a few elements that can't convert or need slight modifications after conversion. Check out a full list at Atlassian Support.
Delete, archive, and restore pages
What’s the difference between deleting and archiving pages?

If you delete a parent page, the child pages move up to the nearest parent page. This will also affect incoming links and macros referencing the page in other pages.
Restore previous versions of pages
You may not have permission to archive, delete, or restore pages. You can contact your space admin if you need help!
Add labels to pages
- Make sure you're in read mode, then select Add labels at the bottom of the page.
- Type each label and select Close.

Labels work best when your team uses them consistently. You don't want some tags with "onboarding" and others with "on-boarding." Whenever possible, select an existing label from the drop-down list to ensure consistency.
Understand how users interact with your pages
View page analytics
- How many users have viewed your page
- When they last viewed your page
- How many times each user has viewed the page
- Navigate to your space, then select More actions (represented by •••) next to the space name in the sidebar.
- Select Analytics.
- Select the Content tab.
- Select the page you want to view the analytics of.
Only Confluence Premium and Enterprise have page analytics. If you don’t see this feature, you may have a different Confluence subscription.
