By the end of this lesson, you’ll be able to:
- Explain what Statuspage is and how to set it up
- Integrate Statuspage with Jira Service Management for incident management
Statuspage provides real-time incident communication and updates
Statuspage is a communication tool for informing users about outages and maintenance. It allows service providers to add components for different parts of their service.
During incidents, users can subscribe for updates via email or text. Support, Ops, and IT teams typically use Statuspage for incident communication.
Jira Service Management acts as a dispatcher for these alerts and determines the right people to notify based on on-call schedules. Notifications are sent based on your contact methods: email, text messages (SMS), phone calls, and iOS and Android push notifications.
👇 Check and manage the status of your service with Statuspage.

Set up the Statuspage integration
Statuspage is a bidirectional integration. Setting it up involves the following steps:
- Add a Statuspage integration in Jira Service Management
- Map alert actions
- Configure the integration in Statuspage
You must be a product admin to integrate with Statuspage.
For detailed steps, visit the Integrate with Statuspage support page.
Integrate Statuspage with Jira Service Management
When you integrate Statuspage with Jira Service Management, an active incident on your status page will also be displayed on the customer portal. This feature can reduce incoming support queries during service downtime or performance issues.
👇 Here’s how the status update displays in the customer portal, stating that the website is slower than normal.
