What do you do with pages with old macros when you decide to switch Confluence macro apps?
Full disclosure first: I build Mermaid Plus at NGPILOT, and serveral macro apps for Confluence, which is exactly why I’m asking instead of pitching. Here’s the situation I keep running into, and I suspect it’s common across every macro category. A team picks a macro app — draw.io for diagrams, Excalidraw for whiteboards, a…

How does your team keep architecture diagrams in Confluence actually up to date?
Full disclosure, same as my earlier post: I build Mermaid Plus at NGPILOT, so I have a horse in this race — which is exactly why I'm asking instead of assuming. Here's the pattern we keep hearing about: A team writes an architecture page in Confluence. Text gets updated constantly — AI teammates summarize, rewrite, draft.…

AI Can Create Confluence Whiteboards Now. It Still Can’t Maintain Them
There's a whiteboard in almost every Confluence space I look at. The architecture one, usually. Projected in design reviews, opened by every new joiner, corrected live during arguments with a borrowed mouse. It's the most human artifact in the space — and the most expensive to keep true. Confluence now has genuinely good…

Mermaid diagrams in the AI era: a Rovo agent for Confluence (2026)
Full disclosure up front: I work on the team that builds Mermaid Plus Diagrams for Confluence at NGPILOT. This post is the thinking behind our Rovo agent — why text-based diagrams are the format the AI era needs, and what an agent that actually operates your diagrams looks like. It is not a pitch; there is nothing here to…

Five Native Ways to Make a Confluence Page Look Modern (and Where Macros Fit)
A lot of Confluence pages look dated for a reason that has nothing to do with Confluence: they're one long column of headings and paragraphs. The native editor actually ships most of what you need to break up that wall — layouts, panels, highlights, expandable sections, in-page navigation. It just doesn't advertise them.…

Why Mermaid Wins the Text-to-Diagram Standard in the AI Era — and What Mermaid Can Actually Do
Ask any modern AI assistant for a diagram — "draw me the checkout flow" — and almost every one answers back in the same language: Mermaid. Not a PNG. Not a proprietary format. Plain text that renders into a diagram. That's not a coincidence, and it matters for how you document things in Confluence. So this article answers…

Four Ways to Quote Text in Confluence (and When to Use Each)
Quoting text well is a small thing that makes documentation read like documentation instead of a wall of paragraphs. A quote separates someone else's words from your own — a customer request inside a spec, a policy sentence inside a runbook, a line of an email inside a postmortem. Confluence doesn't have a single dedicated…

A Faster Way to Export Jira Issues to Excel or CSV — Without Leaving the Page
Exporting Jira issues to a spreadsheet is one of those things everyone does. A sprint report, a compliance pull, a stakeholder share, an offline analysis — at some point you need your filtered issues in a .xlsx or .csv file you can sort, pivot, and pass around. Jira gives you two adjacent buttons for this in the Filters…

Enhanced Markdown for Confluence: Mermaid, LaTeX, and Code — All Rendered, All Inside Atlassian
A few weeks ago a community user named Andreas asked a question I'd seen variants of several times before: Copy markdown code into Confluence with embedded Mermaid code He'd installed a Mermaid viewer, pasted Markdown containing Mermaid code blocks, and expected the diagrams to render. They didn't. Native Confluence splits…

Google Fonts for Confluence v2: The Picker, Rebuilt — and the Six Weeks That Made It Possible

No issue templates in Jira (only project templates)? Our 2026 answer
It's the most-requested thing Jira has never built: a real issue template engine for the create screen. Project templates shipped years ago. Issue templates never did. For 14 years the gap has been filled by Marketplace apps, and the category is now crowded: a dozen-plus vendors, one incumbent at nearly 5,000 installs, and…

Google Fonts for Confluence Update (2026): Runs on Atlassian, 1,942 Fonts, and What's Next
A few weeks ago I wrote 3 Ways to Customize Fonts in Confluence and Which One Actually Works. The short version: native Confluence gives you a small set of system fonts, browser extensions don't work for your teammates, and a Marketplace app — full disclosure, the one I build — was the only way to get real Google Fonts…

Beyond LaTeX: Why We Brought Animated Math to Confluence
If you write technical documentation in Confluence — research notes, an internal course, a tutorial, an onboarding guide for new engineers — you've probably hit the math wall. Confluence Cloud has no native LaTeX support. The open feature request, CONFCLOUD-30543, has been sitting in "Gathering Interest" for years. So you…

We rebuilt our code block for Confluence: 50 themes, a diff view, and editor chrome
Confluence ships a Code Block Macro. You've used it. Pick a language, paste your code, get syntax highlighting once the page is published. It works, and it has looked roughly the same way for a long time. I'm Simon from NGPILOT. Earlier this year we put out Modern Code Blocks for Confluence to push past that — a code macro…

77 Reviews, 5 Complaints, and the Q&A App We Built in Response
Atlassian ships an official app called Questions for Confluence. It has 3,924 installs — by far the most popular Q&A app on the Marketplace — and a 3.0/5 average rating from 77 reviews. For an app made by the company that owns the platform, that's a loud signal. I read those reviews before writing any code. This is the…

Why We Built Yet Another Mermaid App for Confluence and Jira
When I told my team "let's build a Mermaid app for Confluence," the first question was fair: there are already over a dozen Mermaid apps on the Atlassian Marketplace. Why build another one? This is the story of how we found the answer — by reading user complaints, hitting the same walls ourselves, and making architectural…

Confluence all macro apps not work
Today, I find this issue, and make sure for both dev and prod apps not work at all in the Confluence page editor after / no app defined macros appeared! I check the health status of Confluence, everything seems ok. I have refreshed more than five times hard refresh the page, no effect at all.

3 Ways to Customize Fonts in Confluence (and Which One Actually Works in 2026)
Take 30 seconds: open your most-visited Confluence page. Look at the headings, the body text, the callouts. Every piece of text uses the same default font family, the same sizes, the same weight. Now open your company website, your marketing deck, or your brand guidelines. The typography there is intentional — it has…
