This integration brings Atlassian apps closer to where teams work. I believe these "little" helpers simplify the adaptation and introduction of the System of Work, making it easier to transition from collaboration in mailboxes to Jira.

Sure. You can get a 30 days evaluation license and install it in you favorite environment like linux or windows. Here you get the license and download for data center: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download/data-center Server is not anymore available but you can use data center in a single node setup.

Great description John. Thank you! We could not use automations because still with that customer on data center and used instead scriptrunner. Our use case was for an employee app that uses for task management Jira as a backend (https://retail-optimiser.de/en/fressnapf-organises-in-store-tasks-paperless). 

We used Scriptrunner for a more complex requirement of reoccurring tasks. But for an simple issue that is newly created after closing each sprint is the automation perfect. No need for a marketplace app.
