Update on this: Unfortunately we've decided that this feature won't ship as previously demonstrated, but we will write a guide on how to achieve this using custom fields + the Compass API.
-
If these three things are true, package deps should be populated automatically the next time the lockfile is modified: * The GitHub for Compass app needs to be installed and authenticated * There needs to be a link to your GitHub repo in the "Repositories" section of the component * Your repo needs to have a…

OK, automatic syncing is now live - and so is scorecard support! Give it a try and let us know what you think.
-
We are close to releasing support for automatic ingestion of lock files via the Bitbucket/GitHub/GitLab for Compass apps. This will make adoption much simpler. If you are interested in being one of the first to try this out, let us know!

Hi @Jeff Madison This feature isn't ready for release yet - glad you're excited about it though! We'll let you know when it ships. Al

Ah, got it, thanks. That's awesome! Yes, if you are populating values via the API, you can use the `createMetricSource` GraphQL mutation to create a metric source: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/compass/graphql/#mutations_createMetricSource However, there are two ways you can supply metrics via the REST API. One…

Hi Keith Thanks for your feedback. The Scorecard filter on the components list matches components that have the selected scorecard(s) applied to them. When there are lots of components with the same scorecards applied, it would seem more useful to filter on scorecards in a particular state (Failing, Needs Attention,…
-
Agreed - we need to make that easier.
-
Hi Sridhar - one question before I answer more completely: what app/integration are you using to populate change failure rate?
-
@seb That's a great idea.
-
Hi @Lea Columna There are three user roles: * Basic user * Full user * Product admin Basic users are free; they have limited features. This role is intended for non-developers. You pay for full users (and product admins); they get more features. Those features are intended for developers, so we'd recommend 2,000 licenses…

Hey everyone! We just released our first version of JQL metrics which is intended to help solve this problem. Check it out here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Compass-articles/Introducing-Compass-JQL-metrics-to-track-Jira-issue-counts/ba-p/2957036#M657
-
This is now possible with JQL metrics. Check it out here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Compass-articles/Introducing-Compass-JQL-metrics-to-track-Jira-issue-counts/ba-p/2957036#M657

Hi Andres To clarify, there is no permission in Compass that turns off Scorecards entirely. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Alastair Compass PM

Hi Leo, that's an interesting question. It's not obvious to me how inner-source and open-source would materially differ when it comes to Compass (maybe some metrics would be different like PR cycle time) - what do you have in mind?
-
Hi @MS and @Jack We're exploring options for implementing a more robust set of permissions policies for Compass objects (scorecards, components, custom fields, etc.). If you're interested in chatting about this, schedule a Zoom call using this link:…
-
Hi @vibhav_s_mb Thanks for your question - are you referring to tracking a Jira issue count (i.e., all issues with high priority)? There's no simple way to do that right now, but we plan to add it in the future. Al
-
Hi Andy The behavior you're describing sounds like what we'd expect - Compass is set up for a 1:1 component:repo mapping. What behavior would you expect? Or rather, what files do you expect it to find? Thanks, Alastair
-
Hey Matthew - sorry, but your image(s) didn't come through. Can you try adding them again?
-
Oh, which kind of custom field is it? I ask because scorecards currently don't support dropdown custom fields and user custom fields yet, so that might be the reason. (We're working on this.) Another reason might be that the component types on the scorecard application filters don't match the component types for the custom…
-
Hi @Mario Cappellano! We deployed a fix for this today. Let me know if they are still not showing up.
-
Hi @Shane Chapman - I think I just reproduced what you're seeing. I think there might be a bug here; try changing the "Application model" to Automatic and then selecting some component types. The custom field should appear in the dropdown then. I'll work with the team to fix that.
-
Hi Spencer, thanks for your question! Build time and deployment time are derived from build and deployment events sent from GitHub via the GitHub/Compass integration. More details are here: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/compass/integrations/integrate-Compass-with-GitHub/#supported-metrics You're correct that the…

Hey Mario! PM for Scorecards here. Thanks for your thoughtful feedback. Good news - you can use the Checkbox-type custom field for this, which is equivalent to True/False. You can evaluate the field in Scorecards and check for a true value. However, there is a minor quirk I want you to be aware of: if the custom checkbox…

Hi @Joel Kinzel You might be pleased to know that we recently shipped this exact feature (update the charts when you filter)! Plus a bunch of other charts, as well. I'm writing up an announcement blog right now, but please feel free to check them out and let us know what you think! Al Compass PM

A fix was deployed on Friday. Sorry for the delay in updating; I was out of the office! Cheers, Al
-
We've identified the issue and are working on a fix.
-
Hi @Rick McCord, Thanks for your post. We're investigating this issue! Thanks, Alastair Compass PM
-
Hi Lukáš, Thanks for your question. I really like this idea! Right now, you can't connect Jira information to metrics/scorecards. However, this is something we've discussed and are interested in for the future. They seem like a natural fit, especially since you can now use Compass components in Jira and create Jira issues…

Hi @Gurjeet, Thanks for your question. You're supposed to be able to run pipelines from the extension, but this functionality is not working right now due to a bug. I've opened a public issue to track this bug that you can watch:…
