Hi Pavol, I explored the possibility of a more streamlined/opinionated GRC system built upon Jira and Confluence last year. Unfortunately that exploration didn't go on for further development at the time. I do hope we'll return to the idea at some point, as it has merit. In the meantime the existing material, community…

That's a good question, and one where I'd definitely be guessing. Perhaps it sends back an overall flag of the health of the coverage in the report corresponding with the targets, or sets an exit code.
-
Hi Gaurav, I'm not an expert on this, but it appears these define the thresholds for what you'd deem healthy, unhealthy and failing from a coverage point of view. For example you might say a 50% method coverage is failing, 70% is unhealthy, and 80% is healthy. Some more clues can be found…

@jbarcenilla , thanks for sharing that example. I think you've the right approach overall, but I think the the better solution to your problem would be if you could customise the merge check (approval) requirements based on the branch types. Then you could not require an approver for release chain merges. Alas that is not…

Hi @Nuala Clamp ! I hope you had some success with this. Would you be willing to share your experience and feedback on a call? If so, you can book a time here: https://calendly.com/s/MHzEU67g
-
I'd love to hear how you go, either way, @Nuala Clamp All the best with it!
-
Hi Nuala, that's an excellent question, and I'd be happy to help. In the first instance, I recommend checking out this guidance for a concrete implementation that we've used internally at Atlassian with good…

Hi @CanTech SDE Team , as it happens we've just been discussing the next ER release for Bitbucket. Alex is absolutely correct about our official line (every 12 months) and that we've not chosen a target version as yet. That said, we're considering an ER earlier in the 7.x series given there's likely to be quite some…

Thanks Olaf, I think one of the other mechanisms you mention would make the most sense for that use case. For the idea of putting a PR "on hold" , there is an open suggestion that is gathering interest: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BSERV-9357

Elastic search is required for the operation of Bitbucket and is the only option. It sounds like you might have a misconfiguration or infrastructure that's rather below the recommended minimum specs to sustain the required services.
-
A clustered Bitbucket Data Center instance requires low-latency between nodes, which is typically not the case between regions. We've tested that it can be run across multiple availability zones within a single region on AWS though (see slide 25 here), and you may be able to get the same result on Azure but I'm not…

While that's a big jump, if you've not a lot of custom add-ons it's probably not too daunting. My main tip would be to try it in a test environment first and check the supported platforms changes carefully. As for upgrading git, you'll probably need to do it at the same time (as opposed to before or after Bitbucket…
-
Hi Johannes, This is currently possible with any built-in functionality, but I could imagine a custom add-on being able to tweak the behaviour. Alternatively, if what you really care about it who can _approve_ a PR for the purposes of passing merge checks, you could use default and required reviewers functionality to avoid…
-
@Laurent Etiemble , could you elaborate on what the limitation is in practice? The author can still review (ie comment), and their creation of the PR implies they approve of the changes. Is that the gap, perhaps, where they might not yet fully approve of the combined changes and lack the ability to indicate their…

It sounds like the repository was either: * corrupt in some way and the Git operation on the server was unable to do it using the approach it uses (this can differ to how you'd merge locally). Or... * the git repository was manipulated behind the scenes (ie directly on the filesystem) on the server. This isn't a good idea.…

To use cookies you'd need a good way to extract such values from a logged in browser session. Chrome's developer tools has a way to do this from the network tab (right click on a request to copy a representative curl command, including auth). However, this is not ideal, as cookie based auth isn't well suited for scripted…

You can now use an officially supported integration to build and deploy from Bitbucket to AWS via CodePipeline. https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2019/12/aws-codepipeline-now-supports-atlassian-bitbucket-cloud/ You can also use a number of Pipes as part of your Pipelines to connect directly to a number of AWS…

In what way(s) do you find it limiting in practice, @Derrick Slopey ?
-
@Claus Nielsen , while plans can change due to unforeseen circumstances we anticipate 6.10 following 6.9 (which was released last week) close to the regular cadence of other releases, which is usually every 5-6 weeks.
-
Thanks @hutcj !
-
Hi @hutcj , as it happens this is something we're considering at the moment. I don't have a concrete answer just yet, but expect to in the coming months. In the meantime, I'd love to hear more from your point of view. What specifically about an Enterprise Release appeals to you. What factors are important when "deciding…
-
@Alexander Bondarev , I'd love to learn more of your workflow to help us prioritise what capabilities to bring to Server. Would you mind emailing me (rbarnes at atlassian com) with a little more detail about what causes you the greatest "processing time for requests" today?
-
Hi Ignacio, If I understand correctly, you've worked out how to update a build status by calling the API again with the same commit hash and the same key attribute. https://developer.atlassian.com/server/bitbucket/how-tos/updating-build-status-for-commits/ Unfortunately, there's no way to ignore or delete failed builds,…
-
@Ignacio Martin , I'm afraid my best suggestion would be to only send back build status for builds you are interested in the status for (ie the "build only"). One of our teams at Atlassian built an internal add-on that lets you indicate which specific builds you care about for merge checks, but it's unique to our build…
-
Hi Stephen, at this stage we've no plans due to lack of need/interest. I'd love to hear more about what specifically you value in enterprise releases that you feel Bitbucket lacks.
-
What does your config look like? Per my answer, if it has DocumentRoot and Directory sections they might be getting in the way.
-
A couple of things to try: * Remove the DocumentRoot and Directory sections, these aren't used when proxying and may be getting in the way. * Check that mod_proxy is correctly installed and enabled * Check the logs after restarting apache In short, it looks like Bitbucket is working, but apache isn't configured correctly…

Hi Keith, I just took a look at the link you provided and it seems pretty fast for me (2-3 seconds) and the waterfall/network chart I get looks less laggy. Is this still an issue for you?
-
Yes, "DVCS accounts" settings are only for connecting to cloud based hosting accounts. You can think of it as equivalent to application links for the purpose of the developer status integrations that both enable. However, the technologies used are different, and application links are used for a wider range of purposes.…

Forks are designed for a specific purpose and not intended for seeding new, unrelated repositories. As such, they don't and won't work that way by default. Project level settings are now available in Bitbucket Server (from 5.2) so you can create a regular repository within a project that inherits settings. If it is…
