This would be the ideal solution except for cases where Issue Security Levels is being used with watchers. In that case, you'd want watchers to sync with that field when changes are made. I guess there would need to be a global Script Listener that updates the user field with changes to watchers.
-
If you have the Watchers (now unavailable on marketplace) plugin, with "CC" being the name of the customfield. { "fields": { "CC": [ {{#triggerIssue.CC}} {"name": "{{name}}" }{{^last}},{{body}}{{/}}{{/}} ] } } This has the benefit of having the watchers added during creation so any notifications needed will be sent out on…

Good advice though I do wonder where that leaves "Team Managed" projects, which seems to be the antithesis of consistency.

@[deleted] Would you mind sharing your patch? I've been keeping a clone of the original source here but unfortunately it's a pretty old version (not 2.8.5) My story: I didn't want to setup the whole plugin development environment. I attempted a decompile and added "ComponentAccessor.getComponent(FeatureManager.class)" to…

Looks like you got hacked, and ransomewared. Sorry. Best bet is to hire a security specialist at this point. Second best option is to wipe the whole system, and restore from backups.

How many have been in meetings where the person is taking notes and creating tasks in a Spreadsheet only to then transcribe it into Jira later? There is opportunity here to make Jira as responsive as the speed of thought so that it can replace spreadsheets. This is where Jira Work Management could help, in addition to…

Is there a timeline or JAC bug we can follow along to see when patches will become available? Downgrading JDKs might not always be feasible for every customer.

So I was dabbling with this problem recently. Here's some helpful info if you have ScriptRunner: 1. Create a new file with the following snippet (I took this from Google's doc): (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){ (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new…

App vendors can still sell you a license I suspect, just not through the marketplace.
-
Moving over from Server to Data Center is not without risk. We'd lose our perpetual license, and will then be at the whim of Atlassian if you decide to no longer support Data Center in the future. Unlike Server, the software would simply stop working when it reaches the end of the license. Is there any assurance you can…

I'm more of a deliver the latest greatest features to users quick, but the latest updates to Service Desk forced us to remain on LTS. I hope you can do a review of these two items since they will be included in the next LTS, I don't know what real-world impact is like, but I decided to stay on the 8.5.X LTS due to the…

This is one of those all or nothing settings that's a bit inflexible. For example, you want watchers to always be notified when a comment occurs in a transition, but not when the transition is missing a comment. What users probably end-up doing is erring on side of not-missing comments, and email regardless. In the past,…

Recommend also keeping tabs on tweetdeck for "jira" + cve, or atlassian cve. You'll sometimes get details not found else where, or hear about exploits trending from existing minor vulnerabilities. For example: https://twitter.com/samwcyo/status/1177044709396627456

Perhaps you're hitting this bug: https://productsupport.adaptavist.com/browse/SRJIRA-2931

@Jens NiedrichInstana looks very interesting. Thanks for the tip.
-
See this snippet but you should also upgrade Service Desk and see if that fixes the problem. The new version has an updated look with a wider width.
-
Anyone notice that if you use the flag with the latest Jira 8 upgrade, it'll keep prompting you to do a full reindex...even AFTER you do a full reindex?
-
Hope everyone was able to clean their systems up. I'm subscribed to all Tech Alerts to stay on top of security vulnerabilities, but in this case, Atlassian did not e-mail me, but another colleague notified me. I reached out to their support and they fixed a bug in their mailer so it's a good time to also check your Email…

The regular non-admin CSV importer will only let you pick fields you have available in your Create Screen. It's not unusual for admins to leave out Issue Type from the Create Screen since you're forced to specify one. Make sure you add Issue Type to you Create Screen, even though it seems superfluous.

I find these classics indispensable: ScriptRunner The missing scripting engine that makes Jira a platform to build your custom business logic. I've also been using behaviours more as a way to help consolidate configuration schemes. Have 100 projects with the same field configuration, but just 1 that needs field xyz…
-
Snippet example of the behaviours script: https://bitbucket.org/snippets/superoni/eaGobL It just inspects the Form Help, and parses it into the Description box. When creating your Behaviours configuration, apply to All Service Desk. In initialiser, save the snippet to file, and provide path to file. Specify 'run' under…

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-68174 This should hopefully answer part of your question. So yeah, webhooks do seem to have a negative UI impact.
-
If you have Script Runner, you can insert a raw XML module in Script Fragments. Would this combination potentially work?
-
Don't know if this bug still exists but the @mention photos will be missing if you upload via the old RPC API. A reindex will fix it, but not ideal if you're constantly updating profile pictures. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-35282
-
Did this work for anyone? If so, what are the parameters?
-
See https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-5621 about this limitation. I generally go with this solution: 1. Install the Watcher Field plugin. This will let you edit the list of Watchers vs. having another list of users to manage in addition to Watchers. This lets you put a CC: field in the Creation form of Jira…
-
The way I've done it in the past is: You edit the issueedited.vm template which is generally where most of the notifications come from. You put some logic in there that puts a flag/keyword into the subject line if the Edit operation resulted in the change of a field we want muted. If the change had a comment or included…

This is just a shot in the dark, but do you have any type of caching configured in your proxy or load-balancer? Seems like it could be recycling the same sessions between users.

Newer editions with the updated look / feel of Jira Confluence now have a preference to OS system fonts (from looking at the CSS styles). You can change your Confluence fonts globally with some custom HTML as described here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/styling-confluence-with-css-166528400.html A specific example…

Since google led me here, If you're using Jira Service Desk Server, you can use Script Runner to insert a Script Fragment / webresource. Just use the context customerportal and then you can override with your own CSS. If you're on Cloud, there's an open feature request for this:…
