Hi Brett, Confluence Questions will be a paid add-on (plugin) for Confluence. Licence and pricing information will be announced just prior to Version 1 being released.

I'm not sure about the issues you're having with third party plugins, but if you are having issues uploading photos, that is definitley a problem we want to know about. Best way to get it investigated will be to raise a ticket with support at support.atlassian.com. They'll help diagnose what is going on and raise a bug if…

Hi Stacia, no, the insert menu can't easily be customised or resized. Looks like this might be a browser specific problem. I was able to use the scroll wheel on my mouse to scroll down to see the bottom of the insert menu in Chrome and Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer.

Hi Chris, You might want to have a look at the new Confluence Questions add-on for Confluence 5.3. The beta was released just a few hours ago. Read about it here or sign up to the beta program at https://www.atlassian.com/questions.

Hi Rachel, sorry Confluence does not export comments to PDF. Although you can customise the PDF export layout and stylesheet (see Customise Exports to PDF), I'm not sure you would be able to make it include the comments, as it is not processed as part of the export. Hopefully someone else from the community will chime in…

No, if a user has permissions to 'use Questions' they can ask a question and add topics (labels) to that question. There is no more granular permissions.

Hi Anastasia, those variables are part of the meeting notes blueprint, and are unfortunately not available in an ordinary template. You can comment or watch the suggestion here https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-30567. You can add your own variables to a template, but they do not automatically populate with information…

Hi Ingrid, If you regularly need to make your templates available in more than one space, you can also create a Global template (you'll need to be a Confluence Administrator to do this). This makes the template available in all spaces in your site. As Stephen mentioned, there's no easy or automatic way to move a space…

Sounds like what you want to do is create a page for your users to contribute to, and then share that page by email. To share a page, click the Share button and enter the usernames or email addresses you want to share with (note that if you share with an email address, the user will need to be able to login to Confluence…

Hi Jean-Christophe, only an administrator can modify group memberships in Confluence, so I'm sorry, it is not possible for members to set their own group memberships.

Oh and I realised I missed one part of your question Bob. We have no plans to change the structure of the Confluence docs at the moment. http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/doc will remain the Confluence Server (and Data Center) latest space, which we'll update after each release. The release notes will remain in this…

Hi Bob, Thanks for raising this, and I'm so sorry for the frustration our docs are causing. As you know, I’m a tech writer for the Confluence team, so please forgive me if I don’t have answers to all your questions about the specifics of the JIRA docs. I’ve resolved the problem with the broken links to the JIRA Cloud…

Hi Matthew, although the Confluence Questions toolbar doesn't have an insert button, many macros can be added in your questions and answers, especially those like the Widget connector that support auto-convert. For YouTube and Vimeo, simply paste the link into the editor and it will automatically add the widget connector…

Hi Patrick, The shortcuts are designed to give quick access to pages that are already in the page tree. But it is possible to hide the actual page if that is what you need to do. If you go to Space Tools > Reorder Pages and then drag the Meeting notes page to the root of the space, so it is no longer a child of the home…

There isn't a way to add a date picker into your template as such, but you could use instructional text in your template to prompt the user to type // which triggers Confluence's own date picker, and inserts the date as a lozenge (which is useful for avoiding 1/11 and 11/1 date format differences)
-
I believe you would need to add multiple macros to do this, and define the sheet you want to display in each. I don't know of a way to make multiple sheets available in a single macro.
-
HI Andy, thanks for letting us know. I've fixed this link now.
-
Hi Vida, the Office Excel macro expects the file to be attached to the current page, but you may be able to use the Include Page macro to get around this: * Create a page that has the Excel file attached, and use the Office Excel macro to display it on the page. * On each page that you want to make the excel file…

Hi Jake, I'm afraid there's no way to move templates between spaces. You're stuck with just copying and pasting the content from one template to another. If you want to have the same custom retrospective template in all spaces, you can make your changes to the global template instead, which is then available in all spaces.…

Hi Hemanth, if you're a Confluence administrator, I'd suggest that the easiest way to rectify this is to add yourself to the group in question, remove the permissions on the restricted pages. The process you describe to remove restrictions should work - I'm guessing it may be failing because of a bug. If you continue to…

Sorry about that, have fixed the link.

Hi Serafim, The way we hide some of the buttons and menus in our documentation is using some custom space CSS. If you're an OnDemand customer I'm afraid you wont be able to use custom CSS. If you want to have a look at our stylesheet, you can find it on Bitbucket here…

The personal tasks functionality in Workbox was removed some time ago (over a year ago I believe). You can see all your tasks under Profile > Tasks.
-
Something very strange is going on in that case. I think the best thing to do will be to raise a support request so an engineer can troubleshoot what is going on in your site. There may be a third party add-on or theme that is conflicting perhaps?
-
Hi George, The first time you viewed the dashboard you would have been presented with an option to switch back to the old dashboard. There was also a link in the bottom of the new sidebar to switch back. Chances are you've clicked one of these links. You can get the new dashboard back by removing a dark feature in your…

Hi Maureen, that does sound odd. I've not been able to replicate the problem you're seeing. I'd recommend raising a support request about that. Our support engineers will be able help troubleshoot what is going on, and raise a bug with the Confluence team if necessary.
-
Hi Daniel, I'd recommend contacting our support team support.atlassian.com directly to get some help troubleshooting this. They may also recommend other strategies (such as a database and home directory backup) for backing up your instance to make sure you have no problems restoring it later.

Hi Justin, we have a series of blogs about using Confluence in a software team. I think you'll find a few of these really useful. https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/confluence-for-software-teams-776656419.html

Ah sorry, I didn't read your original question carefully enough. No, there is not currently a way to watch or be notified by label.

An EAR/WAR distribution will not be available for Confluence 5.7 and later. This means that the only supported application server is the version of Tomcat that is bundled with each release. You can read more about this in the end of support announcement. If you're currently using the EAR/WAR distribution to deploy…
