Hi @John Schenk, are you using Bitbucket Cloud (bitbucket.org) or Bitbucket Server? Please note that they are different products and have different pricing schemes. Bitbucket Cloud has a 5 user free tier, whereas Bitbucket Server does not. For comparison, here's the pricing for Bitbucket Cloud and Bitbucket Server. If you…

Hi Bilel, I can't immediately see anything that would explain what you're seeing. I'd suggest you raise a support ticket, so that we can collect some more information from you to get to the bottom of the unexplained audit log entries. Felix

It is possible that this the event is raised by a plugin, which uses a Service User. Do you have any plugins installed that might modify repository data or otherwise raise this event?
-
From what I can tell the application will attempt to contact btf-analytics.s3.amazonaws.com to upload analytics data.
-
Hi @Helma Maassen, I've just had a look and what you are seeing is the analytics-client attempting to upload analytics to Atlassian's S3 bucket. If you are using the analytics logs produced by the analytics client internally, then you can safely ignore this warning. If you don't require the analytics logs, you can disable…

Hi Justin, could you be more specific as to where your users are seeing this message and under what circumstances?

Git LFS is currently only supported on Bitbucket Server, not Bitbucket Cloud. The screenshot you posted looks like the repository settings of a Bitbucket Cloud repository. You can vote for and watch the Bitbucket issue for Git LFS support for bitbucket.org. Felix Haehnel Developer Bitbucket Server

Hi Adam, there seems to have been a mistake in the KB article you linked. I've added a note about the naming of the scripts. In current versions of Bitbucket, the hook scripts will be called 20_stash_callback and should not be renamed. Bitbucket will execute the 20_stash_callback script. I hope this helps, Felix

Hi Rodney, thanks for your feedback. I'll answer this question assuming you are using Bitbucket Server. You are correct in that Bitbucket Server doesn't currently allow you to easily add that many reviewers. There are some feature requests that you may want to vote for: * https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BSERV-2924 *…
-
On the Bitbucket team we tend to do things in a similar way, however we don't ever review our own pull requests. Here's what we do: * Create feature/xyz branch from master (our stable branch) * Create branches from feature/xyz for each individual subtask * Create a pull request to feature/xyz and have 2 people that did not…

You can think of a Project as a collection of repositories. You can logically group all your repositories using projects. For example you might have a product - "Product Awesome", which you would create a project for. "Product Awesome" could consist of: * A repository for a Java webapp * Several repositories for plugins to…

Branch permissions are controlled on a per-repository basis.

Hi Lester, it sounds like you're looking for branch permissions. You can create branch-based restrictions to enforce the rules you have described. Hope that helps, Felix

I recommend you open a support case at https://support.atlassian.com/, so that we may collect more information on your setup. If you would like to troubleshoot this for yourself: it sounds like the webhooks the primary Bitbucket instance is firing off may not be received by the mirror. The most common cause for this is…

Hi @Anand Meyyappan, everything you have described in your question sounds reasonable. It also sounds a lot like what the Stash DIY Backup scripts do for you already. If you use stash.diy-backup.sh to backup a Postgres database, the script will do it using pg_dump. One thing you did not mention is locking Stash before…

In general, a mirror's SSH URL is very similar to a primary Bitbucket instance's default SSH base URL, and is not configurable. The easiest way to find out the SSH URL for your mirror is to go to a mirrored repository on your primary server and look at the clone dialog. If the repository is mirrored, you should see a…

Is that for a fresh install or an upgrade? Your existing server.xml will not be moved on an upgrade.

I have just tested this and for me the branch is definitely deleted from bitbucket.org. Note that even if you're listing remote branches in your local repository, git will show you the local tracking branch for the remote branch. So again, it is in your local repository. If you do not see the branch in Bitbucket's branch…
-
Hi @Dale Cook, However, by selecting to close the branch does absolutely nothing to the branch in any interface except for Bitbucket. You are right, closing a branch in Bitbucket does not delete it from your local repository. It does, however, delete it from the remote repository on bitbucket.org. The branches you see in…

Hi John, the installer does indeed not create the systemd service. There is an outstanding issue to provide systemd unit files in the Bitbucket Server distribution (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BSERV-9148). From your original question I assumed you had created these yourself (you can check Google for a valid example…

You have 2 options for the TasksMax issue: either disable systemd's TasksAccounting, which keeps track of the number of tasks a service may spawn, or set TasksMax to a higher limit. Both of these changes are made in the systemd unit definition file for Bitbucket (/etc/systemd/system/atlbitbucket.service). In the [Service]…

Hi John, in order to help you troubleshoot this, it would help if you attached some of the log messages from the atlassian-bitbucket.log when Bitbucket fails to start cleanly. Re: systemd, Bitbucket Server will work with systemd, provided the limits are set correctly. You may run into issues scaling a production instance…

Hi @Sreeram Ramanathan, Bitbucket Server's SSH built-in SSH server does not allow interactive SSH sessions. If you want to log into your Amazon EC2 instance, you will need to connect via port 22, and use the AWS EC2 Key Pair you specified when creating the instance. The SSH server running on port 7999 will only accept…

Hi Rudy, I believe the best way for you to get all the comments of a pull request is to use the activities endpoint. You'll have to filter out anything that is not a comment, but it's going to be easier to do than grabbing comments individually for every file. As you discovered, the comments endpoint requires specifying a…

Hi @David X Johnson, for LFS it is recommended to use Git's Credential Storage caching. This means that you'll only need to enter your credentials once. You can set credential caching in your git config by running the following command: git config --global credential.helper cache I hope that helps, Felix

Hey Alan, could you provide some more information about your environment? I could not reproduce this with our Bitbucket Server instance. Scrolling to the bottom of the commit list page loads only the next page for me, not the entire history. It'd help to know: * Bitbucket Server version * Your browser and version * Your…

Hello Rahul, there is a REST Endpoint for what you are trying to do. Check out the docs here. For your case I believe you would want to POST to /rest/api/1.0/projects/{projectKey}/permissions/PROJECT_READ/all?allow=true This would grant all users read access to the project with the key you specify in the REST url. I hope…

Hi @Daniel Holmes, The idea behind Bitbucket Smart Mirroring is, that the mirrors are in-sync as quickly as possible. When a user pushes code to the primary instance, an event will trigger, and update all mirrors. In addition to this, a 'sync' job runs on each mirror on a schedule to update itself, in case an event was…

Hi @sravan kumar velagapuni, the user and group picker in the branch permissions administration screen will only show users and groups that have at least read level access to the repository. You should make sure that the users you are trying to add either: * are part of a group that has access to the repository * have been…
