Hi there, I am a user actively involved in a team-managed project, with a unique ability to view the situation from the app vendor's perspective. Our project involves the development of a set of custom fields known as Awesome Custom Fields. Unfortunately, customer dissatisfaction has arisen because they are unable to…

Thanks for the hint. But I was hoping to find a solution without any third party apps.
-
Thanks for the answer. I know about the API (which is indeed the way I would do it as a developer ^^).
-
Unfortunately, at least for forge apps, the color labels only work in the issue view. There's an open feature request at Atlassian: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/FRGE-135

@Marc -Devoteam- thanks for recommending our app Awesome Custom Fields! @Martin Hirsch unfortunately at the moment there is no way to add "colorful" fields into a board, table or card. There is an open feature request at Atlassian: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/FRGE-135 That being said, if you need any further…

Hi @Nikola Perisic yet another third party app solution :) With our free app Awesome Custom Fields we provide a Time in Status field. It saves the value into the field, so you can use it for further investigation. You may also get the status history in the edit dialog. Cheers, paul
-
I thoroughly enjoyed my time working on this app! It's hard to believe that it was a year ago already... One highlight was our contribution to the 🍂🍻APPtoberfest 2023🍻🍂 The priority party

Hi @Sanjeev Pande , you may have a look at our #codegeist unleashed prototype, which brings two custom fields using AI: RefineMeFaster We're also thinking about adding AI powered fields to our "main" project Awesome Custom Fields So we're excited to hear your use cases :) Cheers, paul
-
Hi @Bill Sheboy , thanks for the recommendations! I went with the first suggestion, which is easier to maintain in my eyes. The second approach did not work for me (although it should, according to the documentation...). Cheers, paul
-
Hi Bill, sorry if any context information were missing. I tried to distill the problem, so it's easier to see the core of my issue. As this is a prototype, there is not much more context yet, but this: The custom field is a Forge custom field of type object with two properties ("texts", "colors") including arrays of…

Hi @Bill Sheboy , it seems I wasn't smart enough :P It's working now as you suggested I used it this way: "keys" : {{issue.field1.keys.asJsonStringArray}} Thanks for your solution!
-
Hi @Bill Sheboy , thanks for the hint, but unfortunately that doesn't work. I don't get the right output format with the provided smart value functions (I also tried asJsonObject) Cheers, paul
-
Hi @lucky nath , I'm Paul and working in the Awesome Custom Fields team. With our free JSM Extension you can also use our Cascading Select Field in Jira Sevice Management requests (without Dynamic Forms). They can be configured in the request form, so customers can fill them. You may also display the field value in the…
-
Hi @Maneh Hayrapetyan and @Jordan Chua, you may also try our app Awesome Custom Fields to create color labels. As with Colorful Labels, our labels can't be displayed on cards as well. But with an extension they can be used in Jira Service Management requests. We are also always happy to get some customer input for new…

Hi @Kelsey Van Scoy , could you please add those hashtags to my article (still not allowed to do so)? codegeist, codegeistunleashed, hackathon Thanks in advance!
-
Great news - looking forward to try it out! Are there any plans to enable third party apps to bring some more custom fields to Atlas (as with Forge in Jira)?
-
@Kelsey Van Scoy I've added the tags and embedded video at the bottom of the article.
-
Hi @Kelsey Van Scoy Thank you! Yes, it is an article: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central/APPtoberfest-2023-The-priority-party/ba-p/2497226 Looking forward to see this getting fixed (either way). Cheers, paul
-
We are also facing the problems with tags and embedded video... This is a big disadvantage, as it makes the article less attractive. Please take care of this issue, so all partners have the same prerequisites. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central/APPtoberfest-2023-The-priority-party/ba-p/2497226

Why is that? Apps unleash the full power of Jira :) But in that case, you may use the build-in Jira custom field types.
-
The field is a build-in and locked. It ist there to be used in team-managed projects. If you need a Story Points field, you may create your own field. Therefore you may use a Jira standard custom number field.
-
Do you want to display the budget in every issue of the project? Then you may use a Jira standard number field or use a third-party app. For money related things you may try our app awesome custom fields, which provides a so called "price tag" field, to display your budget with currency.
-
We added a third party Forge approach to this use case, which enables Jira admins to add our custom fields to not only the request form, but to the request view (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1231484/awesome-custom-fields-for-jsm).
-
Hi there, as we are also heavily missing this feature, we had to implement the functionality ourselves... This is the result: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1231484/awesome-custom-fields-for-jsm So far, it only provides the possibility to display the custom fields of our app. Cheers, paul
-
Hi @Carol Low,thanks for taking care of our request :)By providing custom field support for team-managed projects, you've added the ability to not only assign, but create custom fields for this project in particular. At the moment you can only choose a small set of Jira standard custom fields (Short text, Paragraph, etc.).…
-
Hi @Carol Low , following @[deleted] question. Is it currently possible to create a custom field, provided by a third party (Forge) app, in a team-managed project? Haven't found a way in the UI or any APIs. If not, are there plans to do so? Is there a Ticket I might vote for or watch? Thanks in advance! paul
-
I can confirm, that the feature works in EAP (Developer Canary Program). Nice work! Can't wait to see it live :)
-
I had the same problem :) It seems there is a mistake in the documentation: Get URI to download attachment. The Classic (RECOMMENDED) and Granular scopes are mixed up. If I change readonly:content.attachment:confluence to read:attachment:confluence publishing works fine. See: Message: App version has invalid scopes
