I am not aware, nor could find any open bug. You may want to create one at jira.atlassian.com. A workaround is to pre-populate the project on the create screen with a link that includes ?pid=XXXX https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Creating+Issues+via+direct+HTML+links

Sorry for my confusion before. Even the former work around of declaring the variable outside the scope of the macro parameters does not make them replaced within the parameter. Have you "poked" atlassian about this, or submitted a ticket? Seems some functionality has regressed.
-
Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but in Confluence 5 you can define variables anywhere, including inside macros like the info box. The "insert wiki markup" (ctrl+shift+d) also seems to work for me. Space tools > content tools > page templates https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Adding+a+Template

WHat SCM are you using? SVN, CVS, Git, Mercurial?
-
You would have to use the common transition and target step of "resolve" to get that button to work instead of the Mark COmplete -> Complete. See https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-6499

You say you can do the license, database , etc - what's left - what part are you stuck on?
-
In all; the time i have managed, moved, backed p, and upgraded JIRA i have never used those two scripts. start-jira.bat/sh and stop-jira.bat/sh should be used, and will define things like CATALINA_HOME for you. However you can try setting that yourself to the path of the apache-tomcat folder and see if you get farther.…

Apologies, didn't see any mention of this ever working, I edited your question to reflect that this _did_ work, but no longer does. Please note if anything else in the environment changed.

Based on your comment about working in Crowd, but not the tools, I get the feeling you are trying to use their Crowd username to login. My understanding of aliases was for adding Crowd to an existing infrastructure where each tool already had usernames assigned. Aliases will not allow the user to login under a single name…

OnDemand uses the language packs generated from Atlassian and community support translations. I'm not sure if you're suggesting missing translations, or corrections, but you can contribute them for all to use. https://translations.atlassian.com/ https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Translating+JIRA

I believe you will need to create your own email template. You can do that manually - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Customizing+Email+Content Or use the undocumented Email Template Editor plugin - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.labs.jira.emaileditor.emaileditor-jira-plugin

Atlassian has an open ticket for an API to allow basic CRUD activities, but no progress yet. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TEAMCAL-269

Hmm, I'm not sure thats true. We run JIRA behind a firewall and it can't reach out to marketplace for any external domains. Never had an issue with licenses. I see a NPE in there, not timeouts.

Yes, the database must be utf8_bin. The details to configure your database can be found https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Connecting+JIRA+to+a+Database, with sub-pages for all supported engines like mysql: CREATE DATABASE jiradb CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin; Though I am not sure that would affect a…

I think you can do this. I would clone the default workflow, but I think you can also just edit it. You should install JIRA SUite Utilities or the Script Runner plugin, both free (we use both!). Make the value (not necessary display) of the checkboxes == the username for ease, though not required. - Creating an issue by…

Shouldn't you consult the users of your company? And I don't understand the question as Jira requires a specification as to what units (1h 37m, 97m, 6w 4d 3h)

I think you have things right Neil. Bamboo is for continuous integration, which has a few aspects (beyond the tooling choice). It is honestly more of a cultur change then tooling selection. * All developers check-in code to an integrated "stream" frequently. THis stream is typically trunk, head, or master depending on your…

There is a permission within the permission scheme for resolving issues. Make sure they are assigned to a role granted that permission in ther permission scheme used by the projec.t https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Managing+Project+Permissions

Have a look at the REST API docs. I think most of what your looking for is there. Project details (workflow, roles, etc) - https://docs.atlassian.com/jira/REST/6.1.7/#d2e91 But I am not sure about notifications, permission schemes. You may need to interact with the UI for that using a tool like curl to potentiall automate…

Did you configure crowd with SSO? Are you logged into both tools? I ask because configuring space level links "project links" requires an admin in both tools. If SSO you shouldnt see that prompt, otherwise just authenticate to setup the links.

You may want to log a support ticket, as this sounds like a bug.

The default in JIRA to my knowledge has always been 8 hours, so at somepoint someone changed it to 24. You would have to use the issue navigator to target all issues with an estimate > 8 hours estimated during the window when it was changed, and re-estimate those tasks. You could most like do this with a jelly script, or…

Yeah, sorry, ten minutes after walkign away I realized what you both meant. I figured my answer was too obvious!

Bob's question did speak to this, but also wiki markup. To speak specificly to Daniels question, yes you can still insert variables in confluence 5, just use the "$ variables" drop down, or start typing $blah. below is the docs for conf 5 and an example i tried to validate.…

That seems... misleading? Why not enter actual time as the worklog intead? What value does it provide otherwise?
-
I was mistaken, the value I saw locally was "requireProjectId" - but non idea where it came from. - do you only see the "null" param? SDK Locally [INFO] [talledLocalContainer] ====================KEY: null[INFO] [talledLocalContainer] ====================KEY: issue[INFO] [talledLocalContainer] ====================KEY:…

Users of JIRA 6.2.1 (and above?) can get this from the passed Params. public void validateFromParams(CustomFieldParams relevantParams,ErrorCollection errorCollectionToAddTo, FieldConfig config) { Issue passedIssue = (Issue) relevantParams.getFirstValueForKey(ISSUE_KEY); // safety catch if(null != passedIssue){…

I was able to get this from Issue issue = (Issue) revelantParams.getFirstValueWithKey("issue"); But I changed somehting and that key, along with "requireIssue" are missing. I assume "requireIssue" is specified somewhere as true will make it come back, but I hanvent found where yet.…

If both pages (one restricted, one open) want to show the same content to different users, I think using the "include" from both pages to the third piece of content is the right thing to do.
