Story points can be entered from the planning view's issue detail panel, or issue summary entry in the backlog. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AGILE/Estimating+an+Issue

Sorry @Tommy. if i'm able to create a JQL filter who will sort correctly with this limitation. The limitation being an sort on field A sometimes, but sort on B others? I am not aware of JQL's ability to support that in general (throwing Service Desk aside for the moment). In general its a twist in paradigm to say for…

The sorting/order applies to the entire board. If you update the board's filter, then each individual column will be sorted by that order as well. There is not any means to sort individual columns. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AGILE/Configuring+Filters The SLA's are just additional fields on each ticket so you…

* Can group my Favorite plans somehow? * - YOu can set your filter to show only favorites. * Can I pre-define a group of plans to watch and anyone view same list? * - You can add the same label to the group of plans, and other users can add that label to their filter. I beleive you can also link to a label-based filter to…

Not an answer, if you are working with the user to define his question more please comment on his question. Inflating the answer count makles others less likely to look.

FOund the answer in Another Question here. Seems the SDK or perhaps the SAL libraries used by our plugins is incompatible with Java 7 (even tried the latest to no avail). Download java/jdk 6 (1.6.0_34 is the latest i think) and update your JAVA_HOME variable to point to that location. Verify the change (requires running…

Hey, question, do you also see this error when the plugin container first starts? 2013-02-09 15:21:59,997 main ERROR [atlassian.plugin.manager.PluginEnabler] Unable to enable plugin com.atlassian.sal.jirajava.lang.ClassCastException: [Ljava.lang.String; cannot be cast to java.lang.Comparable

I never had a problem before the latest 4.x SDK. Now I can't get JIRA to run standalone or with my plugin.
-
Yes, as called out on the documentation for this element, https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Jelly+Tags#JellyTags-jira%3AAttachFile key is a required attribute that points to the issue key to add the attachment to. Yeah, silly it is different than addComment, which uses issue-key for the same purpose.

I've noticed a few of these myselfs. The inability to upload imahges is quite frustrating.

Check the permission scheme. If it is a custom one the role Administrators may not have the permission "Administer project"

See Shaun's discussion I linked to in your other question. If you want estimates to roll-up from sub-tasks, I believe only "remaining time" will be rolled up. It is a larger discussion we should not repeat here, but sprint planning and estimating should be done at the story level, not rolled up from sub-tasks. But if you…

Unfortunately no. There is no native or plugin functionality (currently) that would allow such lookups and updates. But you could use the sql plugin for the view aspect, but you would need to put the data into a databse.…

@piotr - why not promote your comment to an answer?

The version of Greenhopper you have is "classic" and does not use the same boards. Your screenshot is a Classic Task Board - not a JIRA Agile Scrum board (introduced in 5.x or 6.x). Classic features will be depracated over time, and I would suggets pushing your client to the newer versions of JIRA Agile. I don't believe…

Yes, this can be done. The only caveat that the "create issues" permission must be open to a larger population. The trick is to assign the "create issues" scheme to a particular group, and also to assign secondary permissions (browse, comment, edit, etc) to the reporter field. Since the only one who can see the issue is…

Well the most obvious answer is to stop having people create them offline. Otherwise you can use the REST api to create sub-tasks, https://docs.atlassian.com/jira/REST/latest/#idp1846544 Or potentially the JSON import (which essentially mimics REST update)…

Since you are using the standalone version which uses tomcat or jetty under the cover (i forget as this is not consistent across the suite) so you should be able to drop files into the resource folder within the webapp directory. This would be the same spot that confluence serves images and such from. BUt I think that is a…

Stash doesn't store the actual repos in the database. All git repos are stored to disk in <STASH_HOME>/data. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Stash+home+directory#Stashhomedirectory-Abouttherepositories data contains the Git repositories being managed by Stash With all atlassian products, there are 3 pieces…

The purpose is to provide teams the ability to restart the app without needing to re-deploy. That doesn't sound like a deployment... In general there is good practice that a "deployment" should be everything required to go from A to B, and be repeatable. No reason that should not bounce the web servers too if need…

Atlassian does not publish thier roadmaps, but they do slot public bugs into their fix releases, https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA#selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Aroadmap-panel But the number of releases is really based on how often the need/decide to roll out patches or hotfixes. Some teams (GH)…

I think it is a 2-step process. 1) use cvss2svn to migrate from CVS to a temp SVN repository. - http://cvs2svn.tigris.org/cvs2svn.html 2) Use SVN importer for stash - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/org.tmatesoft.subgit.stash-svn-importer

The sprints shown on a board are bases on the issues shown on the board. There must be 1 or more issues visible on both boards. Refine your filters to eliminate that.
-
If the sprints have the same ID (visible in URL) then that sounds like an issue in the board config. Try removing the empty board an re-creating with a filter distinct from the first to prevent overlap. Otherwise GH is designed to let multiple sprinnts show on the same board, or the same sprint on multiple boards - that is…

That is the primary function of Crowd. Please read the documentation for basic "can it do this?" quiestions. If you run into issues, or unexpected behavior the community is here to help. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/ALLDOC/Crowd+Documentation+Directory

I would monitor resource usage over a few weeks to understand consumption, and make an objective decision. Just based on the sizing you mention I would suggest you find dedicated servers for each, especially is provisioning VMs is relative cheap/easy.

Being able to quanitfy the size of your project backlog and measure progress towards it is a key agile practice. It's not though. Its not a key practice, its not a common practice, its a violation of the principles of agile because your PRODUCT backlog is never done. If it is, your just doing iterative development in a…
-
Hmm, the backlog is an ever changing entity, and I am not sure it would ever be completed. But you can see the total points in the backlog by dragging the sprint marker down to the bottom of the backlog. The total points are shown in the lower right corner. Another option is something like Jamie's "Script Runner" plugin…

Probably not the answer you want, but I think it is important for the stateless nature of the site to use the commit hash. If I wanted to share the link with someone, or bookmark a page, using the commit hash ensures when I go back 2 days, or 2 years from now the code is the same. That being said, I could certainly see…
