Whilst this is not possible without the use of Add-ons it is relatively staightforward with Add-ons. You need to capture the username of the first assignee (possibly in a hidden field) and then on the transition for re-open set the assignee field to match the hidden field content. Depending on which Add-ons you already…

Hi Kalen, I can provide you with an explanation as to what happens with the post-functions and why the placement of your post-function is so crucial. * Set issue status to the linked status of the destination workflow step. * Add a comment to an issue if one is entered during a transition. * Update change history for an…

Glad to be of help and able to provide the answer so quickly.

You can create a cascading select as a type of custom field. Which you can then use on your Service Desk portal.
-
Hi Nadeem, You do not need to match the licence numbers across Atlassian applications unless everyone has identical roles. So you can have different licence levels for each product according to business need. Kind regards

Hi @Hendrik Weißenberg I am not aware of any method other than the "build" a site with only public access. So would also be interested to hear if anyone else has another solution. Phill

If I understand you correctly you have added a custom resolution called "Unresolved" to the system which will conflict with the inbuilt value for an empty resolution which is also called "Unresolved". An empty resolution should quite rightly be defined as Unresolved using the internal description. If you update the…

Your challenge sounds like the solution is JIRA Service Desk which brings in the distinction between customer and others (eg Developers). It also gives you the ability to track metrics on response times as well so worth a look at least. Otherwise you can do with JIRA Agile but you then need to make all Developers restrict…

Thanks for the clarification. This means that the answer from @Nic Brough [Adaptavist] is correct.

Are you requesting a message on screen or an email message to be sent with this comment? If you want to send specific emails then this can be achieved without resorting to major rewrites of the core by creating appropriate email templates for the messages and then triggering an event to send that particular email.

Have you looked at the velocity report? This shows you your progress in terms of velocity from sprint to sprint (only showing the most recent ones though). See <your host>/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=<agileboard>&view=reporting&chart=velocityChart

As Tom Proctor suggests you can have as many boards as you like working on your different projects. The way to do this is to define a filter for the board that only pulls across the items you want to display on a single board. As you want two boards to share a common backlog you need to use the following criteria in your…

Hi @Lisa Nash Can you look at the workflow for one of your epics and confirm what statuses you have. These need to be mapped to the columns on your Agile board and I am wondering if they do not and this is the cause of your pain.
-
In the second board you need to share the filter and the agile board with your team. Click on the config board option and look at the general settings. Here you should see the current sharing. From which you can add others to the list.

yes you can. Please follow the instructions at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/upgrading-jira-applications-802592251.html

Please refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/upgrading-jira-185729508.html.

Hi Abu, In addition to the answer from @Chander Inguva please take note of this recent announcement from Atlassian of how they are introducing more granular permissions for managing sprints. https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2015/11/improvements-to-jira-software-sprint-management Once these are fully implemented…

Following on from the comment from @Nic Brough [Adaptavist] you need to be very careful when working with different Rank fields. For instance, I assume that what is a priority in one department should be visible to other departments in terms of the overall ranking. If you decouple the ranking for one department this could…

You should have the rest API already enabled on your cloud instance. You can quickly check by accessing using. <yourhost>/rest/api/2/mypermissions So as long as the 3rd party software has the right credentials and internet connectivity you should be able to use all the REST API calls.. Hope this helps Phill

The days in column visual indicator will not show the content of your field it will just show a time in a column. The section you need to look at are the card details part of the configuration where you can add the new field to the default display. Note you are restricted to only being able to add 3 fields to the card.

Hi Assia, Can you explain more about what you are trying to achieve here? It is correct that these buttons are not translatable through the InProduct Translation plugin but there may be another way to deal with the Assign option by moving it to a workflow action where you can give it any name you like. Unfortunately I do…

Another alternative is to look at the facitilites that JIRA Service Desk provides for these sort of service requests. You can then map different request pages to different types of request but still deal them with them in JIRA as the same issuetype but having made sure that you have captured the correct data for that…

You can check the What's New page at https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/what-s-new-686863216.html this shows that for cloud JIRA is now beyond 7.2.0-OD-03 whilst at the moment JIRA for server is still at 7.1.1. You will need to wait until both server and cloud are on the same build number in order to complete the…

Hi Sarang Chitre Although you created the project as a Kanban project it is very simple to add a Scrum board to it. A project can use both Kanban and Scrum views at the same time. Which is very useful for looking at different aspects of the project eg planned work (Scrum) vs support work (Kanban) The way this is achieved…

Hi Juell You should find all you need at https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/upgrade-notes-overview-176882813.html but pay careful attention to the need to review each version upgrade. You should of course rehearse this in a development environment before proceeding with your live environment and always take a backup (if…
-
Thanks @Ryan Ray it is very helpful to get the resolution of these things when Atlassian support has to help so that if someone else experiences the same issue they know what to expect.
-
@Matt Doar [ServiceRocket] is right time to call in your support from Atlassian to find what is wrong. It would be good to have you provide a summary for anyone else who finds themselves in the same position when it is resolved.
-
That is a weird situation to be in. Have you tried the permission helper to check that they do indeed have the permissions you believe? <yourhost>/secure/admin/PermissionHelperAdmin.jspa
-
What version are you working with? The reason I ask is that Atlassian had to revert the deployment of Manage Sprints and return to the previous permissions of Schedule/Administer but retained the permission in the system even though it was not applied. "On 9 December 2015, due to a number of issues raised relating to new…
