@Kat Warner I assume this is a take on Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer".

You are welcome.

I'm curious why a native client would get more people to use the system than a web application. What is it about simply being a native client that would get people to open it vs opening a web browser. You could even create desktop icons that would link directly to Confluence so your users would not have to type in the URL.…

This is an old app for Confluence that is no longer searchable in the marketplace, but it does what you are looking for. I am running Confluence 6.15 and it still works. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1210917/attachment-tools-plugin/version-history

@Tyler Kearns According to Microsoft's lifecycle page Server 2012 has extended support till October 2023 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=windows%20server%202012
-
Yes it is under Administration -> Applications -> Application Access. http(s)://{your server}/secure/admin/ApplicationAccess.jspa

You could try contacting Atlassian support and see if your site can be restored from a backup ... possible.

The ideal way to do this would be to also sync LDAP groups with the same name as the jira groups that grant access to Jira software. By default that group is jira-software-users. Then add users to the jira-software-users group in LDAP and the user should be added to the group in Jira and grant them Jira Software access in…

Have you seen the Recently Updated macro? It doesn't show you every edit. It rolls up edits to the most recent a person has done on the page per day, but it still does give you an idea of what it being updated in your space. The macro has an option to limit it to a certain space or list of spaces.
-
Yes! Groups all the way. This will make you life so much easier going forward. Also, to piggy back on what @Thomas Bowskill said it is important to understand what page restrictions actually do. I see it so many times that person A will add person B to a restricted page and they come to me asking why it is that person B…

I would say it really depends upon the size of your teams. Typically, I would tend to create a space for each team. However, if they are really small that may be more of a headache. However, you do gain some functionality by having different spaces ... beyond just having multiple pages with the name name. It is also much…

This is how we set it up. Let's say for example the FQDN for our domain controllers are dc01.domain.dom and dc02.domain.dom. In the Server Settings -> Hostname field we would just put in domain.dom. That way it is not tied to a specific domain controller.

To me it looks like you have not escaped out the quote marks in the page content. You need to escape those out or the first quote mark it comes across it will believe ends the opening one for the storage value, which will make the rest of the stuff you have invalid JSON.
-
You would certainly get support for your Confluence database. As far as support for the PostgreSQL platform or OS that could possibly be outside the scope of support.
-
This page tells you how to customize the PDF export. Specifically toward the middle of the page there is a section to talk about controlling page breaks. The section below is from the page I linked to ... Page breaks By default, each Confluence page will start on a new page in the PDF. If you don't want each Confluence…

Previously, in Confluence you could only edit Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) through Confluence without having to do the dance of downloading a copy of the attachment, editing the local copy, saving it, and then uploading it back into Confluence. The companion app adds that ability to other file…

This is how we set up our Confluence and Jira instances to work with AD. We have an OU in AD for all our Confluence groups and another one for our Jira groups. The group names all start with "confluence-" or "jira-" respectively. For the AD group and user filters we set them up this way. User Object Filter…

You can do it via CSS in the announcement banner. Go to Administration -> System -> Announcement Banner. Put in the below CSS and replace the {ProjectKey} portion with the key of the project you would like to remove them from. <style type="text/css">/********************************//* Hide components and releases…

Oooo! Challenge accepted.

Thanks. Glad it helps. Basically, the user macro just dynamically adds in the built-in page include macro for each of the sub pages. That macro does not pull in the inline comments. So, unfortunately it not possible.

I'm game.
-
Can you elaborate? Are there any specific errors? What is you AD user directory setup? Are you trying to syn using LDAP or LDAPS?
-
@Kimberly Deal _Columbus ACE_ Honestly, your picture that you posted (minus the beer) would be my dream job. I've always had a fascination with space and would give an arm to be an astronaut ... except that I would only have one arm then and I'm sure NASA requires you to have two arms to be an astronaut. So, maybe a pinky…

I believe you mean 8 gigabytes of RAM not 8 megabytes of RAM.

Hmm. After some more testing it looks like the alpha sort has indeed changed. Clicking the button will sort the tree, but new pages still seem to be placed at the bottom of the tree. Bummer!
-
@[deleted] It should look like this.
-
@[deleted] On that same page you should see an icon appear next to parent pages when they are expanded if the children of that parent page are not in alphabetical order. If you click that icon the children will be alphabetized and going forward will continue to be alphabetized until you manually move one out of…

It's like it's so retro that it's new. Awesome!!

Love that the top nav has come home!

So, a couple of questions. Are you on Jira Cloud or on Server/Data Center? Also, what is you experience level with Jira Administration?
