issue.getReporter().getName() is correct, or issue.reporter.name. If that doesn't work make the reporter is populated. Also check your log for velocity errors.
-
getReporterUser returns a different type of user, although getName should work fine. You don't need to restart, run with -Djira.dev.mode=true.
-
Your base URL is probably wrong - check admin -> general config. The activity stream is a good canary for problems with the base url.
-
that was an early version of it...
-
Yeah, other people have done this actually. Sorry, should have mentioned this possibility.

I have written an ldap validated user picker before, I'll hunt around for the code and see if I can post it. It's not very exciting though. > after 10 hours I had only 40k users imported, which is not even 30% of our accounts...) and already this incomplete field took ages to load (select list with 40k entries...) on the…

I'd try /.*400 Lakeview Parkway.*/ This is a useful site for testing java reg exps: http://myregexp.com/
-
Have a look at the "split regex" param in http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Creating+Issues+and+Comments+from+Email

Also see create subtask function in script runner plugin.
-
Use a listener for this. Script fields should be used to show values derived from the issue's fields, or other issues or whatever, but should not modify the itself.
-
Or better still reuse one of the many plugins that have this feature, eg https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/GRV/Built-In+Scripts#Built-InScripts-Createasubtask However as you're "ondemand", unless they are already incorporating a plugin that does this then you're out of luck.
-
You can have an event listener on "issue commented" in the software project, then use com.atlassian.jira.issue.comments.CommentManager#create to create the same comment on the software project. You would have to create it as a service desk agent that has permissions on that project. I would say this is not hard, but to me…

Did you publish the workflow? Is that definitely the right workflow config in the question? The config refers to action 2, but the log refers to action 111.
-
Anything in the logs? probably you need to set a resolution on that transition....
-
In the conf/server.xml, in the <Connector> element do you have URIEncoding="UTF-8" ? This is on by default for the 8080 connector but probably not for the Ajp one. You could try it... I would have thought the ajp protocol handled this but worth a try. Also, for the working confluence instance, is that configured to store…

You can't do it with workflow functions... typically it's done using javascript.
-
If you put the jar in web-inf/lib and then restart jira, it should work. Where did you put it?
-
I suspect Nic is right because isUserMemberOfRole is a closure only defined in the script runner plugin afaik. The syntax is groovy, more or less a superset of java, which you can find tutorials for all over the web.

Thanks for letting us know, this is https://productsupport.adaptavist.com/browse/SRJIRA-1995.

I like to think of myself as an expert too, though not in the Atlassian Expert (TM) sense of the word. But I was also a ClearQuest expert, and for that reason battled against change too long. Don't get me wrong though, I have as much a vested interest in Atlassian as you do. I just have some fears given the price hikes,…

Possibly not the right place for advertising but that should apply equally to Atlassian too - https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/2845/why-am-i-getting-notifications-from-answers-development-atlassian-com (see sig).

Can you remove the "issue.getCustomFieldValue", not sure why you have that.
-
What does "eventual linked issue" actually mean? This can be quite complex.
-
You should ask them... I thought this was one of its features. I've added the tempo tags to your question so maybe they'll come on here and clarify.
-
You should look at the Tempo plugin too. I've never used it but I thought this was one of its selling points.
-
That script looks OK at first glance. Presuming it's the first post-function in the list, that should work. You could add some log messages to check what the values are, eg log.warn ("count2: $count2")

Hi Jo-Anne - PAC is down atm so can't finish this off, but (minimal) docs are here https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/GRV/Grid+Custom+Field and the download is here https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/download/attachments/67797869/grid_custom_field-1.0.jar. Any feedback welcome.
-
Oh cool.... work stalled on it but I will start it up again soon.
-
One other approach, a couple of months ago I almost finished a grid custom field but never had time to do the final polishing. Supports different columns per custom field config, and as many rows as you need. Looks a bit like this on my test system. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll try to finish it.

good info on using a datasource, alternative method is here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/154110/script-runner-external-oracle-database-support
