Create a separate Field Configuration for each Work Type (associated to the Request Type) and make it Required for that Work Type Field Configuration. 

Earliest was probably just a simple digital calculator for normal functions when I was a youngster. Then it would have been the TI advanced calculator for Advanced Math class in High School. Hey Daniel - you are welcome, and yes I think you should be able to do that. Are you cloning to the same space and issue type? If you just do a manual clone on the work item, does it copy it? 

Can you show me a screenshot of that? Because I don't see totals when clicking the 3 dots, just menu options. 

It's really related to capacity planning more less. Seeing show has what % of committed story points in a Sprint. Yes, each distinct Assignee. I will probably provide the Sprint identifier, don't need dynamic. It would be per Sprint.

That is a Request Type, not a Workflow. What exactly are you trying to do?

Okay, so you are trying to edit the Workflow as I understand it. How are you getting to the workflow? And can you share a screenshot?
