Hi @FK Like several of the answers provided, I have utilized Jira Service Desk to build a portal. We also used an additional app Extension For Jira Service Desk to get additional dynamic form functionality. There were some limitations for how many levels of conditional logic could be applied but it worked on several use…

I think you are correct, I'll think about it more and let you know if I can come up with alternate ideas. Sorry these didn't work out. Regards, Mark

Hi Boris, I am definitely not an SME but I’ll throw out a couple of ideas. 1) You can set up permissions for which portals users have access to see and use. Could you lock down the access on the default portal? 2) Or if you have someone with Apache configuration skills, could you put in a rewrite rule that looks for the…

I really like @Manon Soubies-Camy 's article! I will add a few things as well. I've run my company user group since January 2017. Every company is different and that is why Manon's questions are great to ask. For us, it had to be virtual - I tried both virtual and in person. The difference was huge. My users care about…

@[deleted] I start off with asking for topics from our users. I might get 1 or 2 a year that way. But for the company user group, I currently pick all the topics. I rotate between tools (Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket). I do some internal topics that merge how the Atlassian products were used on a software design project,…

@David Mayer We started with Jira and Confluence for our Engineering Business Units. Over time, word got out and we have grown to support HR, Training, Advance Services, IT, along with others. We are bringing in Trello and looking at StatusPage and potentially OpsGenie. Another group supports Bitbucket. We also have…

@Jan-Peter Rusch This is a double edged sword. I wish we were a bit more consistent, however we tend to recommend Apps that we use across all of our instances or extremely frequently. However, from there, we try not to recommend apps as much as allow Vendors to present benefits of using it. Then we inform our users that we…

@Davin Studer I agree with both @Kimberly Deal _Columbus ACE_ and @Fadoua about using Trello. I have used it for planning the DevOps Unconference for the past few years. This year I am using Jira for the open sessions which is a little awkward but has the rooms as columns (and therefore workflow states) and a custom field…

@Kathy Hart I am sorry to hear about your experience. I have to say that has been my biggest fear about starting a regional group because i have heard that the one in my area has folded under twice in the past. It is why I started with the company user group first. That being said, what I have learned from the company user…

@LarryBrock I have to go with the answers above. I make sure to surround myself with wonderful teammates that are passionate about Atlassian tools as well. I guess if I were to add anything new it is about picking the people around well. For work, we interview everyone from the standpoint of team fit AND diversity then…

@Bryan Trummer - ReleaseTEAM For our company user groups, I have to stick to 60 mins as they are presented during the business day. I have to work with timezones around the globe. We decided not to present multiple times and instead pick a time that works for the most groups and record the sessions to provide for everyone…

@Jan-Peter Rusch * For the company user group, I currently pick all the topics. I rotate between tools (Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket). I do internal topics that merge software projects and their use of the products, TAM presentations, App Vendors. And then I look at the support tickets we get and pick topics that cover…

@Jack Brickey 1. Again as a company AUG this has been a bit easier because we track users of our tools that login and I use that to build the list of people to contact about upcoming user groups. I have been thinking about a regional group and agree with the above. I have considered building a mailer and a slack channel to…

Hi @Thomas Schlegel and @Meg Holbrook The company user group has been a bit different. It started as me doing this on spare time on top of everything else. Since it has been recognized as a best practice after an internal audit, my management is more inclined to give me time to plan this and even consider getting involved…

I like Atlassian Cloud from the perspective of speed, cost, and not having to manage the instance. However, Datacenter might have to be used from a corporate policy/security standpoint. The control on datacenter is nice too but keep in mind the cost can start to grow.

Okay that is better for what I wanted to suggest. Can you consider a DB Dump and Tar/Zip of Confluence Home and then restore the data back in the database and rsync/copy the Confluence Home back into place? That is going to be much faster and if i remember correctly what Atlassian is going to advise as you get larger. It…

Can I have a bit more detail about what you are doing? Based on the image/text, I'm assuming this is a space import? Where are you importing the zip from (NFS, your computer, directly on the Confluence Server)? I may need some additional info about the space as well, like size of the zip and how many attachments?

Hi, No worries. I just appreciate you taking the time to answer all of the questions as thoroughly as you can. It is less about how every Jira user needs a Bitbucket license and more about links not working in the case where the user has one jira license and one bitbucket license but not the second (third+) jira instance…
-
I agree with that answer. However the communication for the reason to increase server products license costs does not seem to jive. Anyway - thank you for taking the time to answer the questions here! It is much appreciated.

This goes a little bit hand in hand with geo-redundancy. One of the items that keeps us from considering data center is the need to be in multiple locations across the globe based on the developers location. However, these developers want to at times still share and would like to integrate multiple Jiras to a single…

We rely on security fixes a good deal and therefore try to stay close to the Enterprise Release versions of Server. Having once a year versions is not frequent enough for us. Are you considering more frequent Enterprise Release Versions? And what are you doing to try and keep those versions in sync across the products…
-
I'd like to add to this question - with the cost increase to Server will the feature developments be made to Server or will the trend continue in Data Center even though the costs increases were not made there?
-
i went back and tried to go through the entire process again (after things were working). I found that the second time through, the full locking index was now an accessible option. I went ahead and did that and it worked fine. I wonder if because I hadn't had any index data before and it was the first time, that was the…
-
Hi - so you have the correct answer with the index. That fixes the issue. I didn't enable SQL but I did go back and reimport the data one more time to fully answer your questions and provide a little more feedback about this. The log stops dead and doesn't really say anything. I'm not seeing a bunch of errors (a few…

So far I've read through - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Data+recovery+and+backups?utm_source=SAC&utm_medium=provide_details https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Using+the+Stash+Backup+Client https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/High+availability+for+Stash So I'm not surprised that…
-
I agree with Shrutika about the HA Stash documentation not being sufficent to meet our needs. We have users that live in various countries and rely on the smallest amount of downtime possible. Regular backup downtimes even if it means 5-10 mins (I know this can be reduced with the DIY type of backups) are not going to be…

What if the JIRA issues are not protected or some are not protected while others are. Can it at least show the lists of issues that do not have any issue security values?

I'd like to check this out if I can. Let me know how it would work. Thanks.
