Hi, Sure thing. Triggering a build from Jira is a feature that comes with my Jenkins Integration for Jira both for on-prem and cloud Jira offerings. It supports manual triggering through an Issue Action, and a Workflow Post Function. When a trigger is send to Jenkins, configured Jira issue field values will also be passed…

Hi, What is it that you are currently using webhooks for? Are the webhooks on the side of Jira or Jenkins or both? Also, the SAAS you are moving your Jira Server instance to, is this the Atlassian Jira Cloud offering or a different offering? Move details will help advice you better. If you are looking to get insight in…

Hi @Janice Thanks for your reply and thoughts on this. Interpreting guidelines to make a moderation call can be a difficult balance I completely understand, but that is also the reason I request to share the reason for moderating a thread with the author, to turn it into a discussion and hopefully be educational to both…

On a side note: Is the mail address community-managers@atlassian.com still in use? I ask because the mail address is mentioned in Atlassian Community online guidelines | Marketplace + Solution Partners | App Central as a point of contact with regards to questions on the guidelines or to know why an article was removed. But…

Thanks for your continued support on this. Hopefully the community managers will response so we can make it clear for all.

@Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ I just saw that he article is back. Thanks for your help on this again!
-
Any luck yet @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ finding the cause of the removal?
-
@Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ It seems my article is removed again following the link to the previously restored article now gets "Nothing to see here..." page again. Why was the article, that was confirmed to be line by community leaders, now removed again?

Sure thing @Yacob Hae
-
Hi @Yacob Hae No worries, here are the basic steps you need to follow: * Install the app in Jira and the counterpart plugin in Jenkins * Connect your first Jenkins site, see https://jjc.marvelution.com/docs for the getting started guide * Assign the "Trigger Jenkins Builds" project permission to users, groups, project…
-
Hi @Yacob Hae Sure thing, you can trigger a build manually using an issue action, or automatically using a Workflow Post Function, see the docs here: https://jjc.marvelution.com/docs/features/trigger-build Cheers, Mark
-
For those this looking, the Jenkins Integration for Jira app supports triggering a build via a manual issue action as well as via a Workflow Post Function. Check out the docs here: https://jjc.marvelution.com/docs/features/trigger-build

The association field is formatted incorrectly it needs to be as follows: { "associationType": "issueIdOrKeys", "values": ["KAN-6"] } If the script is making this 'error' then it may be inserting errors else where to.

That is way less that is needed, far more fields are required. Are you sure this is the complete JSON generated by the powershell?
-
Can you share the json your powershell generates before sending it to the API?
-
Can powershell convert the hashtable to valid json?
-
Cross referencing https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-integrate-Jenkins-with-Jira/qaq-p/1650139 as we are also discussing this issue there.
-
@Pranav Lonsane that is most likely that the environment object in the json is not formatted correctly, or has missing, invalid values. Can you print the json send to the console output so you can check?
-
Hi @Pranav Lonsane Sorry, that line is for Java. The objective of the line to generate an id based on the input. If the input is gives twice without changing it then the generated id should be the same. You can also use a checksum like MD5. But if you already have an unique id that is available in the context of the build,…

Hi @Yacob Hae Welcome to the community. As far as I'm aware only my app Jenkins Integration for Jira provides a Workflow Post Function to automatically trigger a build in Jenkins from Jira. Possible other options could be webhooks, but I have no experience with setting that up. Cheers, Mark
-
@Pranav Lonsane @Nikita Sevostyanov The API simply needs an environment that you can specific within your request to the API. I left out the other bits but your request needs to include the following: { "deployments": [ { ... "environment": { "id": "unique-env-id", "displayName": "env-name", "type": "env-type" }, ... } ] }…

Thanks @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ completely understand. Thanks for your help on this.

Thanks @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ I was under the impression, by the name of the group, that talking about Apps that provide integrations that those articles should go to the Apps & Integrations section. Can you highlight the difference between the two groups for me? I don't want to post in the wrong place when my other…

Thanks @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_

Hi @Eduardo Dias Welcome to the community. As far as I'm aware the Official Jenkins App only supports pipeline jobs in Jenkins. The only workaround would be to either implement the missing feature if you are keen on using the Official Jenkins App. I do know that the original Jenkins Integration for Jira app, disclaimer I'm…
-
I'm not aware of any API to get the status of changes done in Jira. I'm not even sure this exists. I do think you should be able to use webhooks to get notified on any changes done. There are different event types that are emitted by Jira. You may need a tool that can act as a man-on-the-middle to do any translations from…

Hi @sumit singh Welcome to the community! As far as I'm aware the official integration on shows the latest builds and deployments in its views without a way to customize this. With the Jenkins Integration for Jira this is possible (A disclaimer: I'm the developer of this app). It will not only populate this view with the…
-
Hi Sahil, That really depends on what you need from the integration. First I would ask "Do I need a Jira app?". If your platform is SaaS based as well, then maybe using webhooks can API calls can work. If not and an app is required, then the next thing I would ask is "Can I build the integration using Forge or should I use…

Hi, What modifications are you talking about? Create, update transition an issue, or creating, realising versions? Cheers, Mark

Thanks, I really like the series and new features coming.
