I guess giving guest accounts to people within the Org got out of hand….

It's mostly duplicit of page titles and information. But then, it depends. If you're copying template and building new content from scratch - users will be fine. If you're strictly controlling access to the copied spaces, so that each space a has a dedicated pool of users and no overlap - users will be fine.
-
Hi @Raúl Marín I'm late to the party but I'd first define what do you understand by copying a space. To me, it's three things: Creating a one-off carbony copy of the specific space's content. Thare are apps for that. Some can apply a prefix/suffix to all pages - Copy Page Tree by Appfire. Creating a series of carbon copies…

Jesus Nieto - the reason I asked about what kind of details you're after: What is often required in the page properties macro already exists somewhere and can be displayed and reviewed without forcing users to fill in a form.
-
Hello @Jesus Nieto Depending on what metadata you have in mind, you can use Confluence's native Content Manager or use Databases. Depending on your Confluence tier, you can use Content Manager to actually change some page metadata en masse. I wrote about related options here: Use Confluence Content Manager and Create Your…

Hi Timothy Black You can solve it by synchronizing two spaces publishing one space into another versioning Confluence spaces The idea is that you're using Space A to work in and - upon saving (Publish/Update) a page, the page is automatically synced to Space B. If a page exists in Space B, it will be overwritten by the…

Hi Sergey Shevyakov Contact billing and licensing as Arkadiusz Wroblewski says. If there's any doubt on side of the Billing Support, refer them to this conversation. I tried to downgrade my Premium JSM trial to Free several times across several hours and always got the 'Something went wrong' message. The same message that…

Hi @Andrei Eleodor Sirbu Try taking a closer look at David Simpson Apps - David has a couple of apps that allow you to connect analytic tools to Confluence (Google Analytics, Looker).
-
Hi @Likhita Biyyala I guess restoring the whole Confluence site from a backup is not an option. What you can do is to migrate individual spaces (or use a site-to-site space synchronization app - Space Sync for Confluence by Ricksoft, which useful if you cannot freeze multiple space at once and your work needs to continue).…

Hi @David Brotzer Attachment come in various formats. There's an app that allows you to edit images right in Confluence. Another option is embedding documents via iframe from cloud services such as Google Drive. If your Confluence and G-Drive are under the same SSO, it should work seamlessly. I used that option in a…

Hi @Peters, Loes (Lloyds Bank - Nederland) @Tomislav Tobijas mentioned the Confluence's native approval process, currently public beta. If you want, and seems that you do, I'd recommend using a dedicated workflow app. Appfire has two very comprehensive apps Comala Document Management and Comala Document Control Appfox has…

Ahoj @Lucia Greplova :) I share your pain. The last time I got that frustrated was writing a step-by-step guide for Analytics only to discover that three premium sites I had access to, each had its own unique way to do the same thing. As a writer and communicator, I find it borderline impossible to advice people on best…

I've seen it on my own pages in my own space… I think it's just an events going out of sync for a couple of miliseconds.

Hi @Patrick Taylor There is a solution that allows you to give SAML SSO users view access to Confluence content without a Confluence seat. It requires an app - Scroll Sites for Confluence allows you to create a website from Confluence content (on your own domain) and authenticate access to the site with SAML SSO. You would…
-
@Admin and @Laura Campbell Actually, Content Manager is available on all tiers but on Free and Standard it's basically view and filter only. Actions (bulk actions to archive, delete, change owner, status, etc.) are Premium and Enterprise.
-
Hi @Admin A couple of months ago I wrote a blog post that might help (if you're on Cloud) The Hack: Create Your Own Command Center - it focuses on using the Cards macro to show things like…. Which pages were updated yesterday so you can find and review them fast. Which content items were updated recently in specific…
-
@Yank Actually, Confluence DOES show the word count - just hit the i icon in the icon cluster in the bottom right corner of a page.
-
Hi @Tina-Louise Allaire As @Germán Morales writes, it's best to step outside the legacy content. Based on the anecdotal evidence from this community fora, legacy content can cause issues down the line. As with any migration, if a wholesale conversion (or sanitization) of the imported/migrated content is not possible, I…

In the editor, Link and Insert Embed have the exact same icon. Also…. Not necessarily a bug. But a series of questionable UX/UI decisions. When only 3 posts previews fit on over 1200 pixels (see screenshot from my Macbook), actual post's text is too small, preventing users from adjusting browser zoom settings, there are 9…

Hi @Carsten Severin _KUMAVISION AG_ Cloning and synchronizing things in the Atlassian universe not only solves many questions but also opens up new possibilies! I often wonder why not on everyone is doing that :)
-
Hi @Miguel Ángel I don't think theres a single best strategy that I could share because how you manage your docs depends on combination of factors that are unique to your situation. For example, you listed four doc types: project information, processes, technical documentation, and internal guides. Each might require…

Hi @Jongju Here's the link to the Atlassian Billing Support - atlassian.com/company/contact/purchasing-licensing
-
Hi @Scott Boyden It'd be nice to add this or that functionality - and Atlassian is doing that, sherlocking apps left and right. But Confluence is not positioned as a standard office tool. For specific features, there are apps, this has always been the model. It's like a smartphone - apps lend it additional functionality.…

"we anticipate at least 10 days of the forums being in read-only mode, starting September 11." @Tomislav Tobijas - I think you can finally plan your vacation :)

Hi @David Allan This might help - it's a guide dedicated to solving Loom login and account issues.
-
Hi @Franz I'm just going to reiterate @oliver cuesta's idea to use the different-space publishing approach. I used Comala apps precisely to take advantage separating Authoring environment (where your workflow happens) from Reading environment. Authoring space has limited access for those few who can edit. Reading space is…
-
@Susheela_Kushwaha I understand the conundrum but you're basically asking what is rather impossible.
-
Hi @Louise Harker You're correct, you cannot (should not) give guest accounts to users who are already a part of you ATLASSIAN organization. In other words, you have 100 people in your company. Your Confluence and Jira only have 50 seats because others don't need access. Let's say that Joe Does is your employee but doesn't…

@Christopher_Collins I have yet to play with Approvals as it was only enabled on my private site yesterday, but it seems that you can have up to 5 approvers - so there's no need to assign it to a specific person. I think you should look into Approvals (+ page statuses) and automation options that can use them.

Hi @Vũ Nguyễn Hương Nhi Most discrepancies are the result of: * VAT - Atlassian prices are listed in USD without Value Added Tax (or local equivalent). The amount that is charged is the price in local currency + VAT. * forgotten app demo - Marketplace and Atlassian apps are free to use for a limited amount of time, after…
