@Bacsányi _Kacsa_ Péter You will always find these there, but you need to be a Jira administrator to see this (and to generate the key). If you are not an administrator- then ask the administrator to generate them and provide you with the details (they can generate them for your user even if you are not an admin).
-
thanks @Alex Gallien for sharing those details. indeed- the approach is a template that can be used with any test tool that has an api!
-
Thanks @Stuart Capel - London @Nicolás Guzmán for the warm feedback, i am already brewing an improvement on this so maybe there will be a sequel. @Stuart Capel - London count me in for the Rovo ACE!

Hello @preethi gardas Thanks for the follow-up question. I think your question is too wide for something that can be adequately addressed here. Migrating from ALM to Jira Xray is a non-trivial project, and I would highly recommend you get a subject matter expert involved. This is probably the first step, and this will save…

@s_gridnevskii Fair points about the advantages of DC. As everything in life, there are trade-offs. In the Cloud, you are much more at the mercy of Atlassian, and you are one of a big bunch of customers.
-
Hello @preethi gardas Are you interested about migration an ALM into Atlassian, using Xray as the test management tool? The short response if that it can be done. It's not trivial but when done right, helped many people achieve better flow and impact, save costs, and make better products. Here are a couple of resources to…
-
@s_gridnevskii Thanks for reminding us the pains of administrating a DC instance!

@graham.zabel I am with you 100%. In an enterprise environment you can't have each team 'do their own stuff'. If you want cross team collaboration you needs standards
-
@Paul Stallworth sorry for publishing twice. As I put articles drafts ahead of time- it could be that I get entangled in my own messiness. Thanks for the references
-
@Haddon Fisher I double that: 'Disable team managed project'. Albeit, its controversial
-
Hi @Marko You will need to install the Snapshots apps for this. Once these apps are installed- it's readily available by just putting a macro on the page - no need to script anything. Disclosure- I am the CEO of RadBee, the vendor behind the app. Here is a screenshot of the test steps showing up natively inside Confluence:…

Hello Amar, Answering about Xray data: Unfortunately, I do not believe you could achieve this without a plugin. If you are considering a plugin, then to fetch Xray data (including Pass/Fail) into Confluence, use these two apps: Snapshots with Traceability extensions (you need the 2nd app for the deep integration with…

@Dave Meredith @Rune Rasmussen @Michiel Schuijer @Aaron Morris Atlassian support found an existing issue on this (from 2005!!). Please vote on this JRACLOUD issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-7320 At the moment, it does not have ton of votes, so- please vote this up and ask your friend too. Perhaps we can…
-
@Michiel Schuijer I did as you suggested and raise a support ticket with Atlassian. Once there is an issue key I'll share so we can vote. Thanks for suggesting

Thanks @Jack Brickey You made my day! Indeed, many project managers use snapshots for status reports. The DIFF feature helps to quickly see what changed since any of the previous status (=status) were taken. You can even integrate it with automation, so that, for example, the automation updated the snapshot every Monday…

@tasha.dehart I will add another option here. Unfortunately, it does involve extra costs so might not be useful for you, but am putting it here as this is a public thread and other people might find it useful. The apps Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence together with the Xray integration App Snapshots Traceability…
-
Hi @Rukmi Wijendra I suggest you checkout this app: Snapshots of Jira data into Confluence . It can capture traceability reports from Jira inside a Confluence page. You have full flexibility to define the traceability levels, the connections between the levels, the fields to show. You even do not have to export the report…
-
@Swati Verma Another option, if you are considering Apps, is to use Jira Snapshots for Confluence together with Snapshots Traceability Extensions (that gives you a deep integration with Xray data) . You'll have full control on the scope of the traceability, relation between levels, and which columns to see. I am attaching…
-
Hello @François Grizard Welcome to the community! If traceability reports are important part of your flow you may want to check our Apps Jira Snapshots for Confluence & Traceability Extensions for Jira Snapshots . These have deep integration with Xray and give you more nuanced control on the traceability report. Full…

Hi Olafuyi, The short answer is yes: there are many teams out there who have this use case. I work regularly with teams in the medical technology and pharma industries, and am helping them configure Jira in a way that supports these requirements. A few points to consider as a starting point: * Not clear if you have a data…
-
Hello @Eva Kielczewski Confluence is not ideal to manage requirements or traceability. Jira lends itself far better for this because: * You can define custom issue types that are "specifications", or "design inputs". * Each such issue gets a unique id * Jira links can be used for traceability (you can even define your own…

Hi @J.P. Mehlhaff Its been a while since you posted your question, but I only now saw this and would add a reply for the sake of the whole community. You can have Confluence users see data about Jira issues if you user this app: Jira Snapshots for Confluence (disclosureL I am the product manager). Basically- when using…

Did not realise that an Atlassian Consultant is a thing. Nice!

Hi @Vronik Welcome on board. What is a consultor?
-
Hi @Vish Reddy {Revyz} Xray is probably the most popular test management tool on Jira, and the data footprint it has on their servers is wide and critical to the organisation that uses them. IMO they do have an api that would allow you to integrate with them. Can you speak on any efforts in this direction? Thanks, Rina
-
Hi @Stefannie Tan I suggest you check this App: Jira Snapshots for Confluence (free if you are on 10 users tier). Its a Confluence app that generates hierarchical views of Jira issues based on native Jira search (so you can be very nuanced in what issues are shown) Disclosure: I am the product manager for this App, but…
-
@Normann P_ Nielsen _Netic_ I am the product manager for Jira Snapshots for Confluence . We have customers using our App to address precisely your use case. With this app, everyone with access to the Confluence page sees the same view, no matter what their Jira access is (or even if they do not have a Jira license). The…
-
Hi @Nate Ryan I am the product manager for a Marketplace App that can help. Sorry for recommending a paid app, but the native Xray traceability report is not always as nuanced as one needs. A way to achieve this would be through Confluence, with the use of Jira Snapshots for Confluence and Snapshots Traceability Extensions…
-
@Nuno Fernandes This is correct. The Jira query macro retrieves results with the access scope of the current user. If the current user can't view these issues in Jira, they'll not see them in Confluence with the Jira result query. One way to set a query that shows the same results to everyone who can view the Confluence…

Hello @Larissa_Baiter , I know of two ways that will get you close to a live matrix: 1. If you use Confluence, then check out the app-duo Jira Snapshots for Confluence with Traceability Extensions. I am the product manager for these Apps. With the Jira Snapshots Macro you can configure your specific traceability logic, and…
