@Asier Vadillo As Marc pointed out, the above condition will only work for Jira rich text custom fields. It will not work for description or few other system field and would require a bit of tuning to accommodate those fields.

Hi @Asier Vadillo Rich text fields in Jira use the Atlassian Document Format (ADF) to store their content. You can create a Jira expression to check whether the field is empty by examining the field’s value in two scenarios: When the field has never been set. When the field once had content, but it was later cleared.…

Absolutely awesome work, @Jeny Stoeva! This has truly inspired a wave of new ideas for me today

Hi @Amol More (amolmo) Welcome to Atlassian community! I see you have mentioned that your organization is using Confluence Cloud. Could you confirm if your organization also have an active subscription for Atlassian Guard as well?

@Kassy Shane Thanks a lot! 😊 That’s exactly what I was going for. Glad it brought back some good memories!

Hi @Asier Vadillo If your Paragraph type field is using rich-text renderer then the field values are stored in Atlassian document format and you can use below Jira expression to disallow such values. let cf = JSON.stringify(issue.customfield_10171); cf && ( cf.match('"type":"media"') || cf.match('"type":"mention"') ||…

Hi @Nikul Vyas, You were almost there, you simply need to pass the id as the value to the Team field as shown below, { "fields": { "customfield_11300": "6b180874-cd67-4bcb-bbb7-0fe505891252" } }

@Lars Klint Haha, I’m all in as long as there’s a little “credit roll” moment for me 😜 Seriously though, I’m a big fan of your YouTube stuff!

@Mahanth Prudhvi P Unfortunately, there isn’t a public Jira Cloud API that directly supports creating comments with attachments. That said, it’s technically possible — though not straightforward. You’ll need to jump through a few hoops, and it’s worth deciding whether the complexity is justified for your use case. Here’s…

@Audra Bonacki You’ll need to add a post function to your workflow’s Re-open transition to clear the Resolution field. Here’s how you can do it in new Workflow editor experience: Edit the Workflow associated with the issue type. Locate and select the transition that moves the issue from Done → Reopen. If you have multiple…

@Sean Chua Welcome to Atlassian Community! You can provide your Rovo agent with the necessary context by linking relevant Confluence pages as part of its Custom Knowledge. Here’s how you can set it up: Go to your Rovo agent’s Scenarios section from the side navigation bar. Under the Knowledge section for the selected…

@Mel Paisley I used Custom UI with JavaScript Canvas API for the graphics. I added MIT license to the project so feel free to use it in your demos. 😊

@cascadesky Welcome to Atlassian Community! You would need to add the Theme work type to the project’s Work type Scheme. Below are step-by-step instructions for the two common project types in Jira (company-managed/classic and team-managed/next-gen). If your project is Company-managed (classic) Open the project that is…

@Kevin Jamieson Would it possible to share screenshot of the error? Also, if possible share screenshot of entire rule for troubleshooting.

Hi @Kevin Jamieson, Because Labels is a multi-select field, several values can be added or removed in a single edit. To detect when a specific label was previously present but later removed, you need to iterate through the changes and check both states. This requires two separate conditions: one to examine the value before…

@kaushik thakkar To add on to @Sarp Egemen's response, another option is to leverage Forge’s Remote module, which allows you to run your business logic on your existing infrastructure. This way, you don’t need to migrate or duplicate your backend services into Forge — you can simply connect them. You can find more details…

@Christa Meck It looks like the default text is hardcoded into the Parent field’s UI component as helper text. Adaptavist wouldn’t be able to change this either, since their Behaviour module is based on Forge's UI Modification module which only updates the field description (which is an empty string in this case). I…

Hi @Sudarsana G, Unfortunately, Jira’s native Two-Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget only supports system or custom fields with predefined options (like single/multi-select, cascading select, Fix Versions, Assignee, Reporter, etc.). It doesn’t support number fields because they could create infinite buckets, defeating…

@Subbulakshmi K Welcome to Atlassian Community! 1. Most teams don’t estimate incidents during sprint planning because the volume and complexity can vary. Instead, they look at historical data to reserve a buffer, say 10-20% of their sprint capacity for any unplanned work. 2. If your incidents are somewhat predictable i.e.…

Hi @Douglas Hall Welcome to Atlassian Community! Assuming you’re setting up this automation for an existing number custom field, here’s how you can configure it: 1. Create a new automation rule using the Field value changed trigger. Select the field you want to monitor and set the Change type to Any changes to the field…

Building on @Walter Buggenhout's answer, if your goal is simply to add a specific URL to the tickets, you can achieve this using Jira automation by adding a remote link to all newly created work items. This approach lets you include the web link without the need to repurpose a custom or system field for this specific use…

Hi @john.main Integrating Gitlab (Self-hosted) offering to Jira cloud would require you to install the Gitlab for Jira Cloud app using any of the two methods which are described in detailed here. I would recommend going with installing the app in development mode as it is much easier than making your own marketplace…

Hi @Sarah Catania You were almost there, you could simply use Date plus function to get the Due date. A valid smart value for the operation would look something like, {{issue.customfield_13488.plusYears(issue.customfield_13489)}} You can read more about other smart value date function here. In case Cybersecurity increment…

@BITS_BASICS Welcome to Atlassian Community! Unfortunately, SSO integration is not available with Jira's Free, Standard, or Premium subscriptions alone. To enable SSO with your identity provider (IdP), your organization must also have an Atlassian Guard subscription, either Standard or Premium plan. An exception applies if…

@Ben Woods Welcome to Atlassian Community! You were very close to figuring it out on your own. I'd recommend starting with the classic scopes (write:jira-work, read:jira-work) for your use case — they generally cover most common needs. However, if you want to restrict the script or app to only the minimum necessary…

@Jamiu Adeleke Were you able to resolve the issue? If so, kindly mark my answer as accepted, it helps others in the community find the solution more easily.

@Steve S_ Have you embedded your prompt inside the manifest file itself? If yes, then it could be a possibility that the prompt is invalidating the yaml indentation or semantics. I would highly recommend you to move the entire prompt content to a text file and place it separately within your app. Read this Atlassian guide…
