Hi everyone, It was so awesome to hear the warm feedback about our OKR app! For both current customers and those who are just curious about OKRs - if you're coming to Atlassian Team Europe, you can meet Oboard team at a braindate "How to set OKRs for marketing teams": https://team24europe.braindate.com/braindates/201683/…

Hi @Whitney Nicholes We're drinking our own champagne with OKR Board for Jira 🙂 All the company's priority goals, and marketing goals in particular are living there. We link our Jira issues to OKRs and outline them on a shared roadmap to do the planning and track the progress. Really helps to move things forward

This one is great - Getting sh*t done: How program managers make cross-team collaboration simple with Atlassian tools Attended it at the Las Vegas event, so totally recommend it!

Happy to be a part of the event! I cannot wait for it 🤩

Hi @Maddison Fitch I haven't noticed those settings either. Goals seem more about connecting strategic OKRs to Jira issues than tracking specific numbers. I've got an article covering OKR setup in Jira via Jira Product Discovery, Jira Plans, Jira Goals, Jira's custom fields, and OKR Board. Hope you'll find a solution that…

Hi Melanie, Goals are in work in progress now, but you can already sign up for a beta version. Adding an instruction for admin below: To opt in to early access: * Go to your site's Administration at admin.atlassian.com. If you're an admin for multiple sites or an organization admin, click the site's name and URL to open…

Hi @Bhanu Jira Align has wider functionality than just setting goals, while Atlas is focused solely on goals. Also, Atlassian recently blended Atlas into the new Jira version. If you're leveraging Atlas, it may make sense to sign up for the beta and start with Goals at once. Another important part is that Jira Align is an…

Hi @Sneha Jadhav Could you please specify which OKR app you use? If it's our OKR Board for Jira, I'd be able to help
-
Hi Amanda, In a nutshell, Jira Align adds a strategic level to the work done in Jira. I've recently written an article, comparing goal-setting capabilities in both Jira and Jira Align. I hope that helps

Hi @Monique vdB Can you help me out, please? I'm following your link, but there is no option to request marketplace article-writing permissions there. There is an option to request Partner Portal access, but I already have it. And the Partner Portal is also sending me to the same page. If I need to select one of the…

Hi @Alina The setups vary wildly, but here are the most convenient, from my perspective: 1. Jira Product Discovery Project adjusted for OKRs management 2. Advanced Roadmaps for establishing a custom hierarchy between OKRs and actual Jira Issues 3. Jira's Custom "Select list, cascading" field configured as OKRs 4. OKR Board…

Hi @KAREN KIRBIS I've found Jira Issue macros quite handy for maintaining the Confluence templates. If your Key Result is straightforward, such as a specific feature launch, you can link related Jira issues directly to visualize the progress: It's more than saving time on retyping information but also saves a lot of time…
-
Hi @Mukesh Panchal Have you managed to finalize your setup? 1. "Initially the Objectives created through the plan (using portfolio) were visible on the plan under scope" - you need to make sure that OKRs are above in the issue hierarchy. This way, the epics will contribute to the OKRs' progress. 2. "While creating the…

Thank you, @Bijay Duwal We aimed to give users the freedom to do all the customizations they need, and in the end - help them achieve greater success with their OKRs!

Hi @maria I noticed you didn't share details about your OKR setup. Exporting OKRs can vary in complexity, but it's quite straightforward if you're using OKR Board for Jira. Simply click the "Export" button in the upper right corner. If you're handling OKRs within native Jira functionality, my guide on using Jira for OKRs…

Hi @Joon Lee You can partially automate the Confluence OKR Templates with Jira Issue Macros. I've shared my experiments in this Jira OKR Handbook. Have you come up with a solution yet?
-
Hi @David Nadri I've double-checked, and haven't found any ways to achieve the setup you're looking for. If the number of goals is not huge, you may try to use the Atlassian OKR template in combination with Jira issues macros. I hope that helps.
-
Hi again, @David Nadri 🙂 I believe Advanced Roadmaps with a custom hierarchy and custom issue types for goals, key results, and ideas could be a suitable solution. Here is my draft: I've detailed this approach in my Jira OKR guide. Regarding JPD, the method you've described—checking the delivery tickets per each idea — is…
-
@David Nadri, which Jira license are you currently using? Based on your requirements, Advanced Roadmaps (Jira Premium only) might be a suitable option. It allows you to create additional hierarchy levels and consolidate them in "Plans." P.S. I've sent you a LinkedIn invitation, so feel free to connect with me there if you…

I'm happy that I found this article! Great advice about automation, and not only for the Jira Admins

Hi @Manoj Nayak I'm from OKR Board and delighted to hear that you were considering our app 😊 As for other ideas, here's my guide on free methods to implement OKRs in Jira, using its native functionality. I would also love to hear which solution you've settled on in the end, if you're open to sharing this.
-
@sunday Joseph happy to help 🙂

Hi @David Nadri It's been a while, but a step-by-step guide on how to map OKRs in Jira now exists 😁 I've covered 4 configuration methods there, 2 of which are completely free, 1 requires a Premium Jira subscription and 1 is free up to 10 Jira users. Would also love to know which setup you came to in your specific case.
-
Hi @Janet Traub Have you managed to make your setup work? I've covered both methods of Jira issue hierarchy and a custom field for OKR tracking in my recent Jira OKR Handbook. Here is a snapshot of the issue hierarchy: And here is another one, with the custom OKR field: You can find detailed instructions in my guide, just…
-
Hi @sunday Joseph You can configure Jira's custom fields as OKRs (3rd option in a guide) and connect them to actual issues. I would recommend the following setup: * Create “Select List (cascading)” custom fields for OKRs * Add “Objective” and “Key Result” to the Issue Scheme * Add OKRs to the Jira Issues that contribute to…

Hi @gelgun I've recently shared an article on OKR setup in JPD. The end board looks as this: Is it something you were looking for?
-
Glad to hear that 😊 I'm not sure if such HUGE posts will fit the community format. Maybe I'll collect the initial feedback, and then share a shortened version of it here.
-
Hi @Kate M It's typical behavior of the new issue types. You need to go to the "Issue type hierarchy" and move your OKR issue up in the hierarchy. You can find more detailed instructions on setting up OKRs with Jira's Advanced Roadmaps and other methods in my recent Jira OKR guide. Hope that helps!
-
Hi @Zara Hughes Is the two-parent approach to the issue hierarchy working out for you? I've just covered some alternatives like Jira OKRs setup in Product Discovery, within a custom cascading field, and a couple of others. Would love to hear your thoughts!
-
Hi @Priya Just today I published an article, covering 4 different methods of using Jira for OKR management and tracking. I'd love to hear your feedback on it 🙂
