It looks like this was a requested feature, but was closed due to inactivity: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-41230

Hi Nam, I think you're asking whether the data from a dropdown field in Google Sheets can import to Jira. Correct me if I'm wrong. I've seen Zapier integrations for Google Sheets + Jira that use JQL, but all the ones I've seen (e.g., Coefficient) create Jira tickets from Google Sheets or create Google Sheets records (or…

Timeline doesn't visualize Subtasks. Are you sure you're using Advanced Roadmaps and not Timeline?
-
Hi @manini bal , Timeline is the free Roadmap in Jira. Advanced Roadmaps only comes with a Premium Jira subscription. Do you happen to know what plan level you're on? Thanks, Becky @ Visor
-
Hi @Franziska Kalloch , 1. Do the external employees have a license to Jira? If so, you should be able to share Roadmaps with them by clicking "Share as" and choosing a link (which will create a spreadsheet they can open in Excel); You can also embed the roadmap to Confluence or elsewhere and share it that way:…

@[deleted] I have a couple of questions: 1. What kind of business are you (e.g., software development, manufacturing)? 2. Are you an agile team? More details = better, more specific response from the community!
-
Hi @David Christopher Castillo , Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like your bars are part of an Epic with their own sprint dates (not an Epic themselves.) if so, then know Timeline bars "are supported for only Epics." More explanation provided here from this ticket (when Timeline was called Basic Roadmaps)…

Hi @Eric Roetenberg , Yes, this is not possible with Advanced Roadmaps at this time. An alternative is to use a Gantt chart tool that connects to Jira. Visor allows you to filter by fields and create different Gantt views with different fields…
-
Hi @Jyotika Patil , This isn't possible in Jira. While you can make fields mandatory (see thread here showing you how: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-make-field-Mandatory/qaq-p/1854806), it doesn't work for just groups. There are a couple options to work with. One is a plug-in within Jira…

Hi @[deleted] It looks like the feature you're requesting is not available. However, it is in progress. There is an area for you to vote for it here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-9930 I hope that helps you. -- Becky @ Visor

Hi @Rajat Saxena Yes, it sounds like you're trying to maintain nesting in a CSV import for a Team-Managed project, which doesn't work currently. An alternative you can explore is copying and pasting the CSV to a spreadsheet that stays in sync with Jira and connect the data that way. Visor is one such…

So weird. My accepted answer got removed? Not sure why. You need Premium Atlassian Plan to make Advanced Roadmaps. Timeline is free to you for making Roadmaps, but it has some limitations, such as: * Timeline does not allow you to show Subtasks, which can be limiting if you need a Gantt that gets into the nitty gritty. *…

Thanks for sending, @Bill Sheboy ! I will add my company name to my username and abide by the disclosures.

Hi @Anuj Setya You need Premium Atlassian Plan to make Advanced Roadmaps. Timeline is free to you for making Roadmaps, but it has some limitations, such as: * Timeline does not allow you to show Subtasks, which can be limiting if you need a Gantt that gets into the nitty gritty. * Timeline does not allow you to include…

Oh, I see your reply now! (Disregard last reply). Yes, choose CSV Excel --- not CSV. Happy that helped!
-
That is curious. I can't reproduce this issue (CSV Excel export shows my subtasks.) It probably is a settings issue then. If you're not able to solve this, you can try spreadsheets that stay in sync with Jira and share that instead (or try to export to Excel from a Jira spreadsheet app):…
-
@Nandita Parthasarathy When exporting the issues to Excel?
-
@Blake Falanga You have to hit a "Sync" button for it to. It will then auto-update the chart.
-
@Blake Falanga Yes, you can share your charts and reports with anyone (much like you would a Google Doc). Unlimited free viewers.
-
@Blake Falanga Visor has two-way syncing with Jira, allowing you to share roadmaps externally that stay in sync with Jira data. The Gantt view = for roadmapping. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1226209/visor-flexible-spreadsheet-for-jira-roadmapping-bulk-edits?hosting=cloud&tab=overview JQL importing lets you…
-
@Madhuri Patil The app Visor is a spreadsheet that lets you import your nested Jira information and export it into a CSV or Excel format. You can also share the spreadsheet right in Visor, which ensures that the data is synced up with Jira. You can have it sync every Monday (or whenever you hit sync) so the data stays…

Becky from Visor here. We have a TikTok (@visordotus). It's not our main social channel, but it's a fun place to play around with messaging. I view TikTok as the slot machine of the internet. Sometimes, you might win big, go viral, and get seen by tons of people. I have a personal TikTok (@beckyshadows) with almost 5k…

The answer is in this doc: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/what-is-the-roadmap/ But it's the "i" icon next to "Quarters" and full-screen icon in the bottom right. @Domi
-
@Domi You can't do this right in Jira. There are add-ons that lets you do this. You can also add a custom field to help mitigate this issue.
-
@Julie Mullen Are you using the free Timeline view (vs. Advanced Roadmap option)? If so, your Timeline will only display issues by ID tracking # and not start or end date (or any other type of criteria). Also, the Timeline view doesn't show subtasks, full stop. The Advanced Roadmap feature does allow subtasks. However,…

@Tufan Topcu Visor makes it pretty easy to add Jira fields (custom or otherwise) to Gantt charts. It's also free to use (up to 250 records). You can check it out here: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1226209/visor-flexible-spreadsheet-for-jira-roadmapping-bulk-edits?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
