Hi @Weronika Ociepka It is possible with apps providing Jira expression-based validators. I answered a similar question here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Re-Re-How-to-restrict-user-group-to-create-certain-issu/qaq-p/2667835/comment-id/1008267#M1008267 I hope it will help. Cheers

Hello @Atta.Khalid Do you work in a company or team-managed project? If you are in a company-mangaed project, then you can switch to the old workflow editor. In the old editor, you can use the Regular Expression Check Validator For regular expression simply choose: false Or if you want to use conditions, then there is…

Validation message must be a string, please surround it with ""

Hi @Yves MOUAFO If you are open to using apps, consider using a Jira expression-based validator. There are several options available on the marketplace. We've developed the Jira Expression Validator as part of the free Workflow Building Blocks for Jira app. The Jira expression for your case will be similar to the…

Hi @Jayesh It is possible to prevent the transition using workflow validators, however for blocking linked issues you will need an app. There are couple of options on the markeptlace. Look for Jira expression-based validators, or a linked issues validator. I am from Forgappify and we developed Linked Issues Validator. I am…

Hi @Laviniu Chis In company-managed projects it is possible using expresion-based validators provided by apps, or if you need only a condition, there is ootb condition you can use. Note that you need to switch to the old editor, cause, in new editor you won't find the relevant options. I answered similar question here:…

Hi @Sunilkumar k If you are in a company-managed project, then instead of a validator, you can use two Value Field Conditions grouped with the 'any condition' setting. If you require a validator, consider using a Jira expression-based validator. There are several options available on the marketplace. We've developed the…

Hi @Priya_ThirumalaiKrishnamoorth, Did you try Regular Expression Check (Validator)? I think you should be able to use reqex in format: (format)? The question mark will match 1 or none formats However, if you need a better validation message, you would need an app that provides a Jira expression-based validator. There are…

Hi @Mayur Gaikwad/Tech PMO I am not familiar with Zephyr. Is the issue connected by a Jira standard link? If yes, then it would be possible with Jira expression validators. Cheers

I think that in the "Restrict to when a field is a specific value" rule, when you change "Review its value as" to Text and leave "This value" empty, then it should work.
-
I'm sorry, that's not within my area of expertise to assist with. You should probably ask a new question and tag it with the server deployment type, because this question is about the cloud.
-
Hi @Marcelo Viana de Siqueiraare you on cloud or server? If you are on cloud, follow the steps: * Edit the workflow that contains the transition. * In diagram mode, select the transition arrow and click Validators in the properties panel. Or in text mode, select the transition's name from the Transitions (id) column. *…
-
Hi @Frida Gustafsson I believe it would much simpler to use transition validator. If you are in a company-managed project then there is the Field Required Validator, which will prevent the transition if a field is empty. Cheers
-
Hi @Thierry Bouvet Yes, you can add the "Date Compare Validator" on the "Create" transition, which is available in Jira ootb in company-managed projects. In case you need a custom validation message, we have created Dates Compare Validator, which is a part of the Workflow Building Blocks for Jira app, that looks as…

Hi @Matthew Gaffney In case you need to also enforce comment quality, I answered a very similar question a few days ago: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/Re-Check-comment-with-regex-during-transition/qaq-p/2717956/comment-id/171716#M171716 Cheers

Hi @Jared Polman In the cloud, custom validators are implemented using Jira expressions. If you can give me specifics, I can help you write one. However, I think it would be best to create a new question regarding the cloud. Cheers

Hi @Fuji If I understand correctly, initially you made the field required in the 'Field configuration.' You can't do that because it will cause the field to be required during the creation of the issue, including on the portal. So in order to make it required during the transition follow the steps: * Edit the workflow that…

Hi @Jet If you are looking for an easy way to block the transition of child issues when their parent is in a certain status or status category, please consider Linked Issues Validator, which is a part of Workflow Building Blocks for Jira app. With a wizard-like UI, you can select options that represent your case. You can…

Hi @David Harkins It is possible with a Jira expression-based validator. I have just checked the following expression, and it blocks the transition for the selected request type when additional conditions are not met: customerRequest.requestType.id == 34 ? issue.dueDate != null : true There are several apps available on…
-
Hi @Archana Sahay Welcome to the community! You are right; I've checked, and the Field Required Validator forces you to provide time spent during the transition. There is a way to address this, but you would need an app for that. There are several options available on the Atlassian marketplace. I am from Forgappify, and we…

Hi @James Gray I would propose an alternative solution using a validator. I am from Forgappify, and we developed the Linked Issues Validator, which can greatly simplify blocking parent-child relationships. Choose the 'Children' or 'Stories' options and the status category in which child issues need to be in order to allow…

Hi @ori gal Instead of condition, consider using validator, which also restricts transition. There is a Field Required Validator out of the box in Jira Cheers
