Thanks for the info @Lauren Wolf

Thanks for the demo @Alex Mendes_ikuTeam_ !
-
Thanks @Elena_Elevatic that was a nice and colourful way to kick off Apptoberfest!
-
Thanks for sharing this @Angelie Stephens it's always fun to see how the App Partners mix Apptoberfest 🍂 with both Octoberfest 🍺🍻 and Halloween 🎃🦇, as well as seeing how many different emojis get used!

It’s that time when it’s more socially acceptable for me to be dressed up in costume without judgement that I’m weird. This suggests that there's ever a time when it's less socially acceptable!
-
Thanks for the update @Kelsey Van Scoy It's always good seeing how the App Partners try and grab our attention for their Apps during Apptoberfest! The only thing missing is the link to the first weekly thread!

Hi @Apryl Harris It looks like you're over complicating it, you don't need the lookup items step, or the advanced editing. Taking out lookup step, and entering PMOREQ-713 directly in the Parent field should be sufficient to get it working

Yesterday I fielded a call from the CEO asking what I'd done to Jira so he couldn't see the status of a work item whilst looking at the comments. Today I've been given a requirement from operations to add in a new field at the top of the right panel that mirrors the work items status, and to add in a manual automation to…

and on testing, that worked against a field with R458, but failed the regex when I used I458
-
Hi @GaryBilton Regex is not my speciality, but it looks like all the examples you've given are for R + one digit, which would not match against R458 (which is R + three digits), have you tried something like ^R\d{1,5}$ This should give you R + one to five digits

Hi @James Arthur It's nice to see people wanting to learn more: As an org admin, you might find it useful to start with https://community.atlassian.com/learning/certifications/atlassian-cloud-foundations, especially since this covers Atlassian Cloud subscriptions and user management After that just work through the others…

Hi @Jack Tennent This is a bit of a faffy workaround: * Create a new checkbutton field "Comment read" with yes/no options * Make sure that the field is visible on your work items * Create a new automation rule with the trigger "Issue commented".* Add an action Edit issue which sets "Comment read" to No * On your Kanban…

Thanks for the article @Shivam Sharma - Optimizory this is something I keep having to bash our tech leads and POs about, especially relating to building what’s asked for vs. building what’s truly needed

Jason Statham, we literally bumped into each other last year taking our respective children out Trick or Treating for Halloween

Hi @Maya_Prakash A simple solution would be to add a label to the ticket for which languages that ticket relates to. You can then set up a filter e.g.: * Labels in ("French") * Labels in ("French", "German", "English") * etc. Alternatively you could create a multi-select drop down with all the languages you might need.…

We have a monthly 'brown bag' session where one person discusses what they're working on, new technologies, etc., it's ,y turn again soon so this is good timing!
-
Hi @Julie Kremp , Thanks for the article. “Welcome changing requirements, even late in development” Most places I've worked this has actually been: “Push back as much as you can until the CTO shouts at you, and then grudgingly put it in at the bottom of the backlog; move it up a bit every time the CTO comes back and shouts…

One tip I would add is that AI makes mistakes; an example of this is I asked ChatGPT to help me put together a business proposal for changing the Jira project key for a large business project would be helpful (One of our suppliers had set up their own project with the same project key, so in collaborative meetings there…

There was a British children's TV programme, called Grange Hill, about a typical school in the UK, it lasted 31 seasons so it had a good turnover of cast as each year the oldest children left and a new class started. Near where I grew up, there's an amusement park, Chessington World of Adventures, which has it's own zoo…

Hi @Rachel Wright , Thanks for the article. A lot of what I'm currently doing is incident management, service requests, etc., and in that context resolution is only set when the incident or whatever we're dealing with has been fully resolved, which takes it out of the JSM unresolved queues. I don't think I would ever have…

Hi @Yancey Larochelle-Williams It does depend on what the team wants to get out of allowing stakeholders to submit requirements to your backlog. A simple way of differentiating where a requirement came from would be to use the reporter field; set up an automation with an if / else condition. Firstly, set up a group for…

Interesting topic today @Kristján Geir Mathiesen ! I had a very bright red pair of shorts with a kiwi logo on them which we bought from New Zealand. We then moved to the UK and after the summer my shorts got put away in a box in the loft. Next summer my mum got our summer clothes out and my shorts were too small, I was…

It turns out that our marketing team overspent on their team building event and everyone else had to redistribute funds to cover that, so no team building comic con, but the CTO has agreed we can all go to Big Data London, for 3 reasons: (1) our platform head is giving a presentation, (2) it's work related, and (3) it's…
-
I've never actually been to Comic Con, but there is one in London next month, I wonder if I can talk the CTO into paying for the team to go to that as a team building exercise!

Also keep in mind that if you use automations to add icons to your text (e.g. summary) every time the rule conditions are met you will have another icon added to the text, one of our admins once set a rule so that any time a task due date was missed an icon was added to the parent epic, she came in one morning to find that…

Hi @Holly Clawson You need to add your field to the Card Layout from Board settings: I don't have a field with the same name, but where I'm looking at target dates find your field and choose Save Then click on the left arrow by board settings at the top left and you should see your field on the tiles

My oldest watch is also the only thing I have of my grandad, it's a simple wind up watch with a broken black fake leather strap that I can never repair otherwise it won't be his watch any more.
-
My grandad used to work for Airfix, so every month or so he would get returned or damaged sets for cheap, so I had a constant flow of plastic planes with gluey fingerprints all over them!

My daughter's first day back was yesterday, she was excited to see her friends, and do some school learning, but it was colder than she expected so she moaned all the way there, but when she came out she had had a good day. And it took one day to lose the first item of clothing, she's down one rain jacket that we bought…
