Cloud is getting investment, on-prem not so much, the UI is night and day so I agree with @Lisa Gleinzer. We build app and the integration between Jira and Confluence in cloud is better and improving. Users want to move from one to another with ease. But you can't do as much customization, we built a suite of tools called…

@Liz Burnswe build apps with a focus on bulk content management. I would like to learn about what problems you need to solve. stavros@easyapps.app. Here is our app with a suite of features called Space Content Manager.

Permissions overview - who has access to what in general terms. The ability to add guests is great but it is yet again another layer of complexity. Many Confluence admins in smaller to mid sized companies are not Confluence pros, have been assigned the role or someone leaves and they become the admin.
-
The cloud UI is so much better and improves. Server/Data Center will stay locked in 2010s. This matters for the vast majority of users. Yet admins and power users of on-prem for years often don't want to hear this as they have mastered on-prem. Cloud comes with a learning curve and compromises. Unless serious security or…

To add to the valid point about "Keeping Documentation Up to Date". "Changes to your software aren’t the only things that will trigger documentation updates. For those us who build apps for Jira, changes Atlassian makes can trigger a lot of revisions." Small changes can cause a mess for users. I just wrote this on the…

We use Scroll Viewport for our documentation. K15t knows a lot about adding value to Confluence pages. I would add another important piece is managing content, especially for documentation as it is public. I wrote this a couple of days ago on another part of the community, it got a few comments: Confluence documentation…

As Andy did @Brant Schroeder please share your suggestions. We rebuilt it to work at scale and then launched it as a separate app as well, it was an original feature of Space Content Manager. A client had a massive space and it was slow. Now it is a matter of adding cases/features and keeping it easy to use.
-
@Andy Gladstonethat is a great point. We will add this ability. Currently (Oct 25 '23) you can only exclude per page not per occurrence. So if the term appears multiple times on the same page and you only want to change some of them in bulk this is not possible.
-
I work with @Jonas Moehringer - ij-solutionswe just released the Find and Replace feature as a separate app as well, so two options: Find and Replace by Easy Apps Space Content Manager (find and replace is one of the features)
-
@Tosin Ojikutuif you are moving to cloud (might be forced to) a no code way to add a prefix or suffix in bulk across any space is Space Content Manager. It is one of a suite of tools we have built. Got tired of macros, CQL...
-
@Emanuel JianuI agree that there should be more tools to do things across multiple pages, this is what we need as a business, if it's page by page we could just use Google docs but we want the collaboration power of a wiki. This is why we are built Space Content Manager. Right now it has bulk find and replace, labels and a…

We were looking for a bulk label manager that had restrictions, example for merging labels, so we built Label Manager for Easy Apps. If you let all users have bulk editing access you can create as many problems as you solve. That said the point of apps are to empower users with added features, so what is the right balance…
-
@Abigail Mannwhen you get a lot of pages in a space, any space, it gets messy. In theory things are put in the right 'folders'. In reality someone has to keep things organized. Labels are similar. They are useful to find and categorize content but not unless they are used well. @Matt Reiner _K15t_at @K15t GmbH has a good…

This post is from 2021 @Rahini Balamurugan, if you have moved to cloud then you might want to get an app. For us it was important to restrict some label features, like merging, so we built an app called Label Manger by Easy Apps that does this. In my opinion you don't want all users having access to all the bulk editing…
-
“Appoint a label manager” agree. The next step of us is having a better way for that person to manage labels. We wanted to have a way for some label editing features not be available to all users, like merging, so we built the app Label Manger by Easy Apps.

I have used browser extensions to create dark mode. It can slow down page load. But the real problem is if a site is not designed for dark mode at times the experience is not poor.
-
@Michael Statonmessage your system admin with a link to this page and ask to get permission.
-
@Rodrigo _Elevatic_improvement like I'm logged in to my Atlassian account to write this but none of the community pages work in dark mode. Atlassian Marketplace website another.
-
@Ellen Khouliwe released an app Find and Replace by Easy Apps to bulk find and replace across a space or a page. It's also part of our suite of tools called Space Content Manger. Confluence out of the box only allows to find and replace per page.
-
We built Link Editor by Easy Apps in Forge. Almost all links can become smartlinks, clients have found that these two cannot become smartlinks: * Loom.com * IMDB.com
-
Smartlinks are created by default when paste in a link to a page on Confluence cloud. You do not need to do anything on the admin level. But if you do not want them to work by default this is a bit of a challenge. Individual users can disable them so URL is the default. It is not possible to disable them on system admin…

@Velan Krishnantake a look at Atlassian Marketplace apps, 30 free trial, to deal with attachments in bulk: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1213672/delete-attachments-statistics?hosting=cloud&tab=overview https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222381/attachments-manager-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview…

Some archiving features are premium only, I wonder if this is a factor in determining the defaults @Alex Sramek: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/archive-pages/
-
Try an app from the Atlassian Marketplace. All come with a 30 day free trial: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=copy%20spaces
-
Step 1: hover over any heading A link icon will appear to the right text. Step 2: click on link icon Step 3: paste the URL somewhere The URL will bring the user to that exact heading on the page.
-
If you need a character count for Confluence our app does that inline Word Count by Easy Apps.
-
@René Lopez @Matthew Foust IMDB.com links cannot display as Smartlinks as well. Why is not clear. So it is not only Loom.com links. We have an app on the marketplace to bulk change links from Smartlinks to ULR (or the reverse) called Link Editor by Easy Apps, a user reported this (and we verified it).
-
If anyone needs to bulk edit links from URL to Smartlinks (or the reverse) we built an app called Link Editor by Easy Apps. It's also part of Easy Toolbox.
-
"Opening Smart Links up for third-parties to build is definitely our plan. We've built Smart Links on Forge intentionally so that we can open up to third-parties in the future." * @Jonno Katahanasof Atlassian, July 2020 We build an app in Forge to bulk convert Smartlinks to URLs and URLs to Smartlinks, it's called Link…

Since server has had an end of life many of you have moved to cloud. It doesn't allow you to use JavaScript like in server. You might not have a choice but to use an app. In cloud you can't technically do a redirection. Reach out if you want to know more. This is the app we built for cloud Redirection by Easy Apps.
