Hi @Päivi Passila What I was thinking was: * Save the Extended Search query as an Extended Search filter, e.g., * Then, call that filter in the automation, something like: "jql": "filter = 'My Filter'"
-
Hi @Päivi Passila Can you save the Extended JQL search as a filter and call that filter in the automation? That might be worth a try. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/jql-fields/#Filter
-
linkedIssuesOfQuery() is a function from the JQL Search Extensions for Jira add-on.

To paraphrase, "I regret that I have but one like to give for @Bill Sheboy's response above." :-) A hearty "+1" to all of Bill's points. Our test project is called JSB (Jira SandBox) and we exercise it regularly.

@John Erickson In case you haven't seen this yet: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-cloud-automation/

Hi @Travis Hill, If I understand correctly you're using the Structure by Tempo add-on on Cloud. If so, you might want to click on the column heading of the Progress column and select Edit. They have some built-in options for rolling up progress that you may be able to make use of. HTH, Kel

Hi @Alan Chêne I couldn't find anything in the documentation but I found a couple of similar questions in the Community: * How-to-change-the-displayed-fields-in-linked-issues * Configure-Child-Issues-field An add-on may be the best answer. HTH, Kel

Hi @Mayra Hernandez Sorry, I don't know of a way to do that. Hopefully someone else can offer some ideas. Kel

Hi @Mayra Hernandez a Jira admin can edit the workflow to: * add a screen to the transition to allow the user to fill in the relevant fields (docs) * add validators to prompt users to fill in the fields if they try to complete the transition with no values in the fields (docs) HTH, Kel

@Farid Rahman Actually, a lot has happened since Abby's update - see: * Welcome to the next era of Jira * Jira Work Management FAQs HTH, Kel
-
You'd want to use the Edit Issue option.

Hi @Caitlin Ewald I know one of the ways that Atlassian's Marketing team uses Jira - sending pop-up ads to my Jira users, asking them to click on it for some vague reason, which sends the admin (me) a request to bump them up to a more expensive license. When I ask them why they need a higher level of access, they don't…

Thanks for the update @Carol Low. As an aside, where do JPD projects fit into this? Thanks Kel
-
Changes to the assignee (and everything else) live in the Issue History. What do you want to do with it?
-
Thanks Carol, this is awesome news!

LGTM. @Lior Efraim * You might want to put some "Add value to audit log" actions in there to print some intermediate results of the smart value expression to the logs to help understand what's happening a little better. * One other thing that sometimes bites people is, are there two fields named "Finish Date" on your…
-
Hi @Lior Efraim can you show us the details of the part of the rule where you set the Finish Date value? Thanks!
-
Hi @Samrudhi Shete, to copy the Assignee from the Trigger issue to the Watchers list of the Parent, you should try the "Add watchers" action with the smart value: {{triggerIssue.assignee}}. Hope this helps, Kel

+1 for Worklogs!

Hi @Jonathan Chatfield, @Trudy P Claspill's suggestion sounds like exactly what you need. Once you get the filter right, create a subscription to the filter for your manager and director, and they'll get a weekly email with the full report.

Hi @Yuliia Vyborova @Nikola Perisic This may be related to Jira Product Discovery? I posted about this last year. No satisfactory response from Atlassian.
-
@Tanguy Crusson @Nick Haller cc: @Drew Kerrigan Any updates on this issue? I'm currently seeing the following - this is really an astonishingly shameful piece of UX design.
-
* Jira Product Discovery is designed for Product Managers * Jira Service Management is designed for service operations like Help Desks etc. * Jira is designed for ... everybody else. Jira was originally built for Software development teams, but has since been expanded and I think we can safely say that Jira could help…
-
The current list is: * Jira * This incorporates the artists formerly known as:* Jira Software * Jira Work Management, which was formerly known as Jira Core * Jira Service Management * Jira Product Discovery

Hi @Theresa One way to set Resolution is in the workflow transition to the terminal status: * We use a post-function in the Done transition to set Resolution to Done * We use a validator in the Close transition to prompt the user to enter a Resolution value (you need a transition screen which includes the Resolution field)…
-
@Drew Kerrigan thanks! It looks like they've implemented your suggestion on my instance at least:
-
We've added post functions to our workflow transitions to Done or Closed to clear the Remaining Estimate field.

Hi @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ See also the wise Doc Norton on X, who wrote: The agile manifesto says: "We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it." NOT "We know the one true way to manage the software lifecycle. We don't actually write software, but we can certify you." #agile

Hi @Anil Konur, If you're on Jira Cloud, then: * Here's the Getting Started with Structure (Cloud) doc. * Here's the part about Totals Columns If you're on Jira Data Center, then: * Getting Started with Structure (DC) * Totals Columns Basically what you want to do is: * Start with an Insert Generator to pull in the…

Hi @Tanguy Crusson, Any comment on the above? This should be a straightforward fix, right? Thanks, Kel
