Maybe you want to consider using a standard Jira project with a screen scheme that limits the create and edit screens to the screens the customer should have access to. You can use transition screens to update all fields.

Before one decides to "go agile" how should they identify the pain points that they want to solve? For example, there are three reasons people want to go agile: 1. Improve personal resume to get a cool new job. 2. Address an organizational or team pain point. 3. Chase shinny Objects I think #1 and #3 are self explanatory,…

I like the question! I think that is a culture issue! I believe Continuous improvement is typically pushed out because people are uncomfortable with talking about their failures or challenges and identifying corrections steps or actions. If your company culture does not support experimentation or accepts failure as a…

How can the tools an organization and their processes impact a culture? Can the implementation of your solutions and methodologies actually block your goal to improve your culture.

I have opened SRJSUP-4888 for support. Jamie asked about adding an reference so it can be hidden by CSS in SRJIRA-2282 but it does not seem that there was more conversations on this ticket. There is the feature request SRJIRA-587 for improving security / permissions. However, our security organization would like us to…

did you verify that the approval field in the workflow is the same field that you referenced? it seems that you might be referencing the approval field while the screen has the Environment Manager approval field.

I agree with Nic, you can disable anonymous access in the properties files on the server to prevent individual space admins enabling "allow anonymous". Sadly, most Confluence instances I look at I have found space admins do not understand "Security" or why opening your space up is bad thing. We ultimately created scripts…

I Do wish you could create Blueprints from the UI. currently only a select handful of people can create new blueprints. it would be cool if you could create more robust blueprint to launch when creating a space.

We encourage all of our teams to create their own templates for anything that is reoccurring. We were inspired by the Atlassian playbooks and used some of those thoughts to help improve our organizations templates. Our primary focus is consistency on a team level. We have actually removed majority of the global templates…

JIRA Service Desk Overrides JIRA's edit permission, you need to have an Agent License and a member of the Service desk Team in order to edit issues. If you use the permission helper, it will show you the conditions needed to edit the issues.…

We allowed teams to customize their JIRA instance to meeting their teams needs since we had no direction from our leadership to standardize. the result was a 2000 hour project and a lot of of pissed off users who had to change. (at one point we had 52 JIRA Admins, it grew organically to 2000 users, today we have 3800 ) I…

we have the same issue with IE 11 which is still under support so I think this might be something else.

Question @Marc Turner , why would you not set the priority and due date when the ticket is created? Additionally, We have Service-Now and we cannot change the original data in the submission ticket. I think this is a best practice for ITSM is not to allow the original request to change. you can also look at products such…

for the SAML Solution, you need to configure exceptions that will not redirect the request to the SAML Solution. this process will be different by the solution you have selected. for our solution, we are able to add the '/rest;' to our exclusion list and it does not redirect.

Do you need to use Service desk project? Could you use a non-service JIRA project where JSD does not override the roles?
-
Could you remove the Issue Security field from the edit screen so that the user could not edit it? additionally, you could look at the BEHAVIOURS plugin (part of script runner) that would allow you to set the field to read-only.

is there a way to pull the full history of a ticket?

We used bigPicture and BigPicture Enterprise. It has worked well for us!

JIRA Service Desk overrides the Edit issue Permission. Users Must be an agent to edit an issue.
-
We use BigPicture for our Safe Implamentation. we also struggled with the naming but ultimately found it easier to adopt the terminology of the products opposed try to align the process. we did create a cheat sheet for the "non-advanced" users.

Do you support Visio export? I know lucidcharts supports Visio export and import.

I have followed the documentation. In the documentation there is no reference to the transition All. if the customer is only using the service desk portal, this is not an issue. However, when you have users that are on the service desk team, and you do not want them to bypass your approvals, AND you have multiple…

The biggest impact Atlassian has on our organization was task management. In our previous life, we had MS Project plans providing a high-level overview managed by project manager, outdated excel files emailed between teams with the tasks needing to be completed, and a bug tracking software that was disconnected from all…

I found that the Atlassian documentation shows: createIssueDetails.jspa? opposed to createissue.jspa? This allowed my components to be set but please be aware, since I have the modify reporter permission for the project, the reporter is blank and needs to be filled in.…

Since we use an identity provider, the user does not have access to the Atalssian login screens and need an alternative method to reset captcha. therefore, we want to create an automated script to reset captcha that a unloack a user when a ticket is submittd.

as of JSD 3.4, you can only associate one confluence knowledgebase space with one jira service desk project. To add you comments: JSDSERVER-143 to add your Vote: Click here

When editing an issue, you can select an epic from the epic link if it is available on your screen scheme.
-
* add issue links field to you display by clicking on the wrench. * when you click in the Linked issues field column a drop down is displayed asking if you want to create a new issue or query an existing issue.

This is what I did and I recieved a JIRA System error and my workflow was corrupt.

Simplified Workflow is a great feature in JIRA Agile and empowers teams to define their own process and change rapidly. However, it ignores the JIRA Permission to create new workflow statuses (JIRA Admin permission). This allows any user to add the necessary status to their board without requiring an Admin to assist. (…
