@Tyler Huish never mind I think I found what's happening: that's because your site is on the "bundled" release track: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/what-are-release-tracks/ Meaning: you'll get these changes on the 13 of January
-
Hi @Tyler Huish do you see this "+" button ? That's how you can define a "highlighted field" for a connection field. Note that there can only be one column, not multiple, there: If you're not seeing it, could it be because this is a global connection field (vs one defined in the space)? I'm asking because there's a…

Ok I had an update from the team and the fix should be rolled out in the next few days
-
Hi Mirko, unfortunately this one is still "next" in our roadmap - we haven't started on it yet, the rest of the feature took much longer than expected to get right. We're going to get to it though!
-
Update: it's a bug, we'll fix it!
-
Hi @John Waymont , I'm checking with the team
-
@Joe Welch my usual response ("coming soon!") but with a demo 😉 https://www.loom.com/share/f6d34da42f8c424a8a21a18a77c196da
-
Hi everyone, quick update: we're working on it (idea on the public roadmap)
-
Okay, we got to the bottom of it. It's a current limitation that you can only do this for a global field if you've got permission to edit the global field (and only Jira admins can do that). We agree it makes no sense, we'll look for another solution. But for now, you'll need to ask an admin to do this for you.
-
Hi @Alec Dewell , we're looking into it
-
If it's for my second bullet point then it's possible, but not in a space/project: * In a space the only things you can see as primary objects in a view are ideas from that space. Then you can show connections on top by using fields, like you did for Initiatives.* In your example, the only solutions you can see are…
-
Hi @Elyse Algate what do you mean by "connected data"? There are different ways I understand your question. * You'd like to see connected initiatives from other projects to show in the "Initiative" column * Or, you'd like to see deliverables from other projects in the same list view, for all connected initiatives * Other?…
-
Hi Lissa, that's the first time we hear of this. Would you mind sharing a screen recording/Loom to tcrusson@atlassian.com so I can check what's going on? (clicking to open the idea's connection tab, the view configuration - e.g. groups, filters)
-
Hi @Elyse Algate , Problem 1 - limit of 20 spaces for Global Field setting: We're going to work on that - unfortunately it's not an easy fix today, but we have this on our roadmap to start straight after we get out of beta Problem 2 - What determines which Fields you can add in the "Connections" tab If you are connecting…
-
Thank you @Kevin Sniokaitis ! We need to make this more discoverable
-
Still a few weeks out. We don't usually give estimates (because most times they are wrong) and in this case I'm glad we didn't: we had a perfectly working solution and realised it introduced a whole bunch of performance regressions. We're on it :)
-
Hi @Joost Reijnen 👋 Not yet, but that's something that's in our radar (the ability to create "roll-up fields" that let you roll up the value of connected ideas)
-
@Arpit Rai we've implemented this and it should be released within the next week. By default the goals will be sorted alphabetically now.
-
Hi, indeed this is not supported yet - when you reorder goals in this menu it just reorders them in the view (the list of groups). We'll look at what we can do when we next improve this feature (e.g. alphabetical might be an easy one to do?)
-
Hi, try turning this off:
-
Thanks for confirming @Brandon Moberg and for the additional feedback. It is not possible currently, but we're looking at design options to improve the idea creation experience and this fits part of that
-
@Brandon Moberg that is most likely because of how the view you're creating the idea from is configured. if you create an idea in a view that has a filter "team = A", then this field value will be automatically applied to the idea - and that's how the idea appears on the view (otherwise it would be hidden immediately after…
-
Hi @Antoni Abella Vendrell , you're right, that's a bug! We're currently working on it, as we prepare to take hierarchies out of beta
-
Hi, you could create a global field that you can then add to any number of projects (that way you're sure every project's using the same way to prioritize) Otherwise it should only take a couple of minutes to recreate that field in your project: https://www.loom.com/share/a09506455d6b4571a912567d5df4169b
-
@Brian can you please confirm how you've configured the view exactly? i want to confirm we're going after the right problem for you. * fields you added * filters * fields used for columns and / or group by * sort Thanks!
-
@Brian actually we found a bug with this - it looks like it's failing when you group by a goal and filter the goals in some cases. We're investigating
-
@Karli Oruste did I get this right? You have the following hierarchy: * Goal: top-level* Goal: team* Ideas Basically 2 levels of goals (top level > team), and ideas are linked to team-level goals. If so then I can't think of a way you can do what you describe, which is: filter ideas by top-level goals, see ideas that are…
-
Hi everyone, it's coming really soon (I'm already using it in our staging environment)
-
It looks like it's going to be deployed today or in the next few days.
-
Hi @Brian I'm checking with the team, they were working on it - I believe it's shipping super soon.
