@Rick Austin I'd suggest holding until early next year where we plan to announce what we've been working on
-
Hi @Steve.Sigal , this is really odd since we don't automatically apply idea description templates 🤔 Could you please share a screen recording with what's happening? Is it possible that there was an automation rule set up in your space that applies the description templates automatically?
-
Hi! we fixed this already when the feature went GA close to a year ago. Here's what to do: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/discussion/comment/3303102?utm_source=community-share#Comment_3303102

Sorry, I pressed Enter too quickly :) There are 2 options today: Either you select spaces 1 by 1, and then there's a limit of 20 Or you can select the option "All spaces on the site" at the top And then it will let you connect ideas of that type without filtering by space

Hi there, thanks for the feedback - it's not something we have on the roadmap currently and I can't think of a way to make this work. To keep it simple for now global means global (shared by every space), and it's either that or space level config
-
@Mike Theis is right: we've lifted that limit a while back!
-
Hi @Roderick this is actually how JPD date fields work today?
-
Yes, if you do that here's what you'll see in the tree: * Goal 1* Initiative 1.1 * Initiative 1.2 * Goal 2* Initiative 2.1 * No goal* Initiative 3.1 * Initiative 3.2 EDIT: I spoke too fast - no, tasks would need to be connected to initiatives to show on the tree. You'd need a dummy initiative in the middle unfortunately.
-
Hi @Delia Tomei Villadsen Actually you can use the same time in multiple levels of a tree view. You can do : Opportunity -> Opportunity -> Solution -> Solution -> Experiment But what you can do is have variable levels, e.g. one idea has 2 opportunities above it, another only has one. Aren't you able to select the same type…
-
Hi @Delia Tomei Villadsen , you can select the same type at multiple levels, e.g. - Level 1: Opportunity -- Level 2: Opportunity --- Level 3: Opportunity ---- Level 4: Solution However you cannot have it on a per-idea basis, it's set up at the view level.
-
Hi @Gal Fatal , you first need to create the view, then change its visibility here:
-
@Matthew Allen Hi there, I got to the bottom of it: The team had retired the feature in favour of view templates (+ > Create a view > Template) but we chatted and agreed that this serves a different purpose - so the team's going to bring back pre-built views and it’s going to be accessible from Spaces > Create a space >…

We don't share release dates for features unless they're close to the finish line. What I can share is that we've wrapped up a bunch of technical spikes for how to solve this, they proved conclusive, and now we're in the middle of prototyping the target experience. So still a few months away.
-
Correct. For #2 we're not going to change the access model though (at least not in the medium term, it would be a massive undertaking to change the Jira permission model for that) - if you invite contributors to the space, they'll have access to all ideas in that space. You can limit what they see somewhat by making views…
-
Yep OK I get that. We're currently working on improving published views so stakeholders can participate better - send feedback, vote and comment (instead of just read-only). It looks like that's the solution you'd need vs what we support now.
-
@Jarmo Valli Okay, I see. In that case, I can think of one solution: To achieve this you'll need to make your space private (space settings > access), only invite people you're working with closely in the space. For everyone else you'll need to publish a view. This way no one but the people you specifically selected will…
-
Hi @Matthew Allen , could you please share a screenshot for where you were expecting to see them? Just to be sure (there could be a couple of different reasons)
-
@Elyse Algate never mind, we found what the issue is! If the space is limited, indeed the selector doesn't show - in this case the behaviour is that "can access" is selected by default (it just doesn't show like that in the UI) because that's how Limited spaces work (anyone on the site can access it) We'll improve the UI,…
-
@Elyse Algate can you please raise a support ticket so we can investigate on your site? I can't think of a reason why this option would be greyed out. This is what I see from a site configured with Private access:
-
Thanks for the feedback @Shelly Kitchen - this is not currently on our radar, and it's probably more of a "later" type thing
-
Hi @Rick Austin , you can find what we support today here Basically: * You can publish a view but you currently can't share it with customers, just Atlassian accounts (we're planning to change that) * They can't vote (we're also planning to change that) * They can submit feedback via JSM (and then you add the tickets as…
-
Hi @Rayne Cypher , I can confirm this is not supported for contributors. We don't currently have plans to change that.
-
Hi @Caitlyn C , the option weights are not available to Automation yet unfortunately.
-
Hi @VijayG , I think what's possible is that your admin gave you access to the JPD app on the site (as in: a license) but you don't have access to the space as a creator or space admin. you should ask your admin to open the space, go in space settings, and add you there with the space role "space admin" or "creator" You…
-
Hi there, yes voting is for the moment only supported inside spaces, published views are mostly read-only. It's something we started looking at to improve the product
-
That is correct, thanks @Gabriela - LeanZero ! Here's a demo from the FAQ that shows how to retrieve connections (this could give you ideas for how add connections using issue links) How do I copy field values and connected ideas from an idea into another one when connecting them? (e.g. copy field values from a solution to…
-
Update: it's now available to everyone in the Premium plan
-
That's correct

Hi @Kamal Hami-Eddine you can do both today. From the FAQ: Does Jira Product Discovery have an API? [...] * We have a public API for insights [...] How can I read or create JPD insights via the Atlassian MCP in RovoDev or Claude? You can't do that yet, however you can achieve the same outcome by using instructions from…
