@Nicholas Wade what you say is true, but the question was about changing the formatting of the numbering, not breaking the numbering. So the apps I pointed to were about customizing the CSS. If you just want to keep the numbering going, you can use soft returns (although I have seen some posts that indicate the new editor…

Yes you can do what you want, but differently that you describe, What you want to do is retrieve the current user. #set($currentUser= $action.authenticatedUser) The you would basically find the methods for name (getUserFullName I think will work). Parse that string for the first name, and bingo, it will alway display who…

Schöne grüsse @Sasko Moraliev , unfortunately, you have hit on one of the many limitations with the cloud version -- no custom CSS. There are some third-party plugins that may do what you want to do: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=confluence&query=CSS

Yes, but not natively. You are on the right track of trying to do this via the API and Python scripting. But it will take work to set up. I suggest setting up a dev version of your live server and find someone good with scripting to work on this project.

That is actually not VTL, but more an issue of which Java methods are exposed to Velocity in Confluence. And it changes between major versions, unfortunately, Thanks for posting your solution as it will help other in the future. I am going through a Confluence 6.x to 7.x upgrade now.

Oh good lord, being constrained by having to make antiquated tools as the central starting point. And I could think of no better place to save user manuals than in Confluence. The good news is that the Confluence API is very robust, so you can get almost any information out of and into it you want. Now whether Sharepoint…

Hello @Sebastian Siegert , that is going to be tough, trying to mix a tool from 2010s with one from the 1990s. ;-) The two are somewhat orthogonal in concept. Confluence works really well for collaboration of documentation source. Sharepoint is file oriented allowing users to check out documents in Word, for example. I…

What is interesting is that it displayed correctly for one page, and not the other? Am I understanding correctly? Is this behavior order dependent? Is there a difference between the content of the two test pages?
-
Try again. I often insert macros of all kinds. Go to end of the numbered item one or two soft returns. Then after the inserted macro, a hard return.
-
If you were on server, I would tell you to write a user macro. But on Cloud, you would need to look for a commercial plugin, This one sounds like it might help you: useful-macros-for-confluence-cloud

If resizing the image to smaller does not fix the problem, I hate to tell you, that if it is an issue with all pages, then you will have to live with it. You have ZERO control over the CSS with Cloud. I would check to see if this is a known issue that might be being worked. Or you need to file one.

I think we need some screenshots to really understand what is going on. One thing I have seen in the past is that people with small screens often have scaling set to 150% at the system level. This setting can cause pages to not act the way you would expect.
-
Hello @Jignesh Patel , make sure your tables are set to responsive and do not have their column widths manually set. Also make sure you have not pasted content from another HTML source as that can paste in formatting as well.
-
If you are using what was suggested in the article: <div class="aui-message closeable"> I would suggest adding a custom class to the div tag to allow you to control the format that way. You may have a conflict between your styling and the default aui-message. I also suggest NOT using inline sytling, but adding the code to…

You were talking about an anchor earlier, but you are actually linking to an attachement? Which macro are you using?
-
On server, I solved this with custom CSS. But that is not an option on Cloud
-
Well it is more a limitation of HTML and CSS. They would need to add a function to allow numbering to be reset. And the issue comes down to how many more $$ would they get for this feature (which few find exciting).
-
Also, take a look at this discussion for more info Confluence-questions/how-we-can-add-an-already-established-user-that-s-in-the-LDAP

BTW, we rely on this happening for when our connection to Active Directory dies, Confluence falls back to my internal admin user account so I can gain access to fix the issue. The only issue is I have to also remember that password as that is also stored with that account. ;-)
-
You will just remove the old directory from the list, so only the AD connection is still there. I do recommend creating at last one internal admin account in case you lose connection to the AD server.
-
If you work with the plugin I suggested, the status of a page is controlled by the worklfow -- it is metadata on the page so is reportable.
-
And if you click edit link, it does not give you the option of editing the display text?
-
Hello @keerthi , the answer sort of depends on what you requirements are. Confluence, CMSes and SharePoint server different purposes. If you want to have a help system with bunches of articles like Wikipedia, then Confluence will work. If you want to develop a website with custom menus, custom layouts, etc., you will need…
-
Does your table have fixed widths set? And have you tried the layout option that has a narrow left column and wide right one?
-
Ah, well you should ALWAYS clean a Word doc before importing: * Delete title page * Delete ToC * Delete headers and footers * Apply standard formats for headings. Doing less than that results in issues and lots of clean up later.
-
Your options are limited on Cloud. The easiest is to add a second label to indicate page status. Or you have to move to a paid plugin that handles workflows and then allows you to do reporting, such as comala-document-management
-
Yes @Alan Vickers we are also counting on the same path being there in Feb 2024. I did a LOT of research on our options when Atlassian started forcing server customer to the Cloud.
-
@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- with the assist!
-
Hello @Alan Vickers , we are in the same situation. Atlassian is only end of lifing the server version. But Data Center will remain an option after Feb 2024, only at $$$.
-
Not sure I am clear on your use case, but you can't fix this with CSS, as there is no difference to H2 regardless what level it is at in the page hierarchy. Unless you want to do programming, the only way I can think of getting close, is the format every heading on you Confluence pages as H1. OR you have to make all the…
