Quickest way that requires no admin access. Open the same page in two browser tabs, Then edit both. You should now see two icons with your initial in the upper right.
-
That could be. I know I can delete them, but they are reinserted. The only reason I care is it creates extra phantom space in the editor view that causes me to think it is empty p tags or something like this: <p> <br/> </p

Here is an article I wrote sometime back that talks about a more sophisticated wrapper macro, to give you more ideas: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Getting-Started-with-User-Macros-Writing-a-Wrapper-Macro/ba-p/979571

I would ask why you want an open div tag? But you don't need to call the HTML macro. A simple user macro will work, where: ## @param divID:title=Div ID <div id = $paramdivID> No I am not sure what will happen you place the macro. I assume it will just close the div tag immediately (i.e., you won't be able to place any…

OK, yet another reason to not use cloud. You will have to find the space admin to give you permission. And it says former user not formal user. Did this person leave the company? You may have to get Atlassian support to help you.
-
Ah, but my point is I am stupid and was still able to do it. ;-) You just need to do the one tutorial on plugin development to get your environment set, and the community can help with questions.
-
Well you might be surprised that that there is the ability to turn/package a user macro into a plug in (uses the same macro code, with some reworking). And within the same atlassian-plugin.xml file, you can add links to your macro in the insert macro menu. For example, here is the Insert menu with two of my user macro…

Is there a similar effort for the server version?
-
You can place the HTML Include macro inside of an expand macro. Would that not work?
-
And the problem is? ;-) Is it only the macro browser that is impacted? Seems like a bug. What was the last version where it was working as expected? I know they added a bunch of language packs in 6.6. Schöne Grüsse!

This is a case where there is no documentation, and I had never thought about it as it becomes so automatic when I use macros. It is quite simple: all the selected text is written to the variable $body. You need no parameter at all.
-
Not sure how often you need no borders in a table. But I see two ways: * If this is a static block, convert the entire block (table plus icons) to a user macro where you can set the table border to zero. * If you need this function repeatedly, then create a user macro that just wraps the body with a classed div tag. Then…

Well you can edit the permissions for the space, and then add yourself and give yourself all the permissions you want. ;-)
-
Well depends how you are using the HTML macro, but I would hazard that a user macro with some CSS is probably they way to go. I have been an admin for Confluence for 6+ years and never saw a use for the HTML macro.
-
The easiest thing to do is to create a page with some example macros with the settings you want, then you can view storage to see how the XHTML is formatted. There is also a source editor (which is what I use_) to see the storage format. A useful tool for fixing pages.
-
Yeah, I think you have found a bug for your version. I would add a comment to that bug with your version. I saw the same thing you saw -- the drop-down rendered as a text box.
-
Well I had to delete the multiple=true. Here is the code that worked ## @param Region:title=Region|type=enum|enumValues=India,Global,North America,Noida,Bangalore|default=India|desc=Choose your region I did find this bug, it may be affecting more versions that listed: CONFSERVER-51624

Lets take a step back and ask what the end goal is. There may be a better way to do what you want to do.
-
Yes there are many limitations with Cloud. Read my response here: Cloud-Versus-Server. It will give you more detail on the limitations.

ToC = table of contents. ;-) If you use the Scroll PDF exporter, you do not need to create this for your doc. It is autogenerated. The Scroll engine is very smart in being to autolevel headings (H1s on child pages are below H1s of parent pages). So as long as your headings and page structure is good, you will get a nice…
-
Sorry I am not clear what you are proposing. Yes, moving the entire doc to one space is a good idea, but is a lot of work (and you have the issue with name space collisions). And the client may not want to go that route. This is why I suggested creating a page structure you want, and the include the content via the include…
-
@Rossella Capobianco, you may have to build a pseudo doc in a single space to make this all work. What I am suggesting is that you use the include page macro in a new space to create your superdoc in a single space. Yes, it will take time to set up, but that is probably the most maintainable solution, plus gives you…
-
it is a paid plugin, and I suggest going with the older version, but you may want to read the docs before making that decision. Plus there is a limitation as to what version of Confluence is supported. In general, K15t's documentation is pretty good, and their support is excellent. You can find v3.x docs here -…

Well sometimes user want something that is not easily done (or even a good idea), but having said that. What you can do is to enable the space for all users to see BUT then pick one of two strategies: * Have a single page tree under home (i.e., home has a single child page). Then the instructions are on the home page, and…

Are you on Cloud or Server? The versions do differ quite a bit. So if you are on Cloud, but looking at Server documentation, you will get frustrated quickly. ;-)
-
I use the source editor a lot: * Sometimes to debug a page to see what exactly is going on. * Other times to clean out div and span tags that get pasted in * I user Regex for more complicated cleanup or replacement. * A quick way to copy complex blocks, or as a quick way to move all the headings up one notch (when authors…

We use the K15t Scroll PDF Exporter (v3.x - for a number of reason), and have a doc sourced from 570+ Confluence pages that we can generate from a REST URL saved at the top of the page (in an export ignore macro). Takes a bit of time (a couple of minutes), but always works, is reliable, and creates a pretty good looking…
-
If it were me, I would install the source editor plugin (an older version is still free), then you can edit the storage code and just remove that macro instance.
-
Everything. ;-) The four big issues I have with the Cloud are: * No user macros -- essential for filling in the holes * No custom CSS -- needed for customized look and feel * Limited number of apps (yes, there several available for cloud, but still less) * Forced upgrade of the server - your solution is constantly in flux.…

To clarify, use the view storage format and look for empty heading tags. Then you can see where it is and either delete or format as a paragraph.
