In the Admin Console, under User Directories, edit the Directory, edit the settings. There should be a box to add all users to Default Group Membership. Remember everyone has to be a member of at least confluence-users. A little hard to find a relevant doc page, but here is one: connecting-to-an-ldap-directory

Well wouldn't setting view permissions on a page tree accomplish this, keeping content private except for the designated few?
-
OK, then there is this solution using a user macro: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DISC/Related+Content Now personally, I would probably make this simpler as a wrapper user macro that reads the label(s) from the page, then feeds them to an instance of Content by Label macro. A cleaner solution. I wrote an article…

In a word, no. In the Adobe world, this function is referred as flowing text (wrapping has to do with text within a column or around an image). It is an advance function that an HTML editor can't handle. BUT, you can fake it "easily" with CSS (using the Multiple Columns function). What you need is a simple user macro that…

If you enter the macro in the template with a set of labels, then when you use the template, the macro will always display the content matching those labels. I guess I am not seeing what the issue is?

I use a Jira Kanban board to manage my individual tasks. Very light weight solution.
-
I don't think that is possible. Permissions in Confluence are inherited, so top-level pages inherit permissions from the space, and child pages inherit permissions from their parents. In other words, you cannot grant permissions that are greater than a pages parent/space.
-
That would be Jira, if you want a Kanban board.

Probably Python. Confluence has good API support, but not sure how that works with the Cloud versions. Your strategy maybe to do the conversion on the server version, then move the spaces over to the Cloud once you are done. I am guessing you have a month's worth of work ahead of you. I did find this one app that might do…

This will be a huge project. I suggest a lot of scripting to first clean up the Word docs, then cleaning up the source in Confluence. And of course, I would try this against a local copy of Confluence for testing first.
-
You might be able to do that with JavaScript, Just the problem might be when you create a new page and need to provide a title.
-
You are going to have to bubble sort your array before output. I will point you to a user macro that gives and example of sorting child pages. /confluence-include-child-pages-macro
-
In a word, no. If you can edit a page, you can change the title. That is why an actual link is better because it will redirect if there is a change.
-
Can you access the logs? It may give some insight into what is wrong. Blank often means that the method/property you are using does not exist in the Velocity context. I am guessing that this is where your macro fails: #if($loginManager.getLoginInfo($user).lastSuccessfulLoginDate) In other words, that construct is null so…
-
What do you get? Blank in that cell? Error rendering macro? Have you looked at the Confluence log for errors?

I always find this discussion interesting in that I have been working remotely since 2003. ;-) In other words, little has changed for me; just now my coworkers understand my world far better (and why I have three monitors). They also now understand what it is like to always have to "dial in" for meetings. And I have been…

It does require manual effort, but I would install the source-editor-for-confluence . This will allow you to access the storage view of the page. Then you can remove the surrounding XML for the macro and re-save. Generally, I don't understand why people still want to use numbered headings in a hyperlinked environment.

There is this page: compare-atlassian-cloud-vs-server But keep in mind that Atlassian is pushing the cloud solution, so in their list of benefits is "No need to upgrade: Get immediate access to the latest and greatest features, no work required" Which to me is the main downside of the Cloud solution -- no control of the…

This macro won't do what you want? recently-updated-dashboard-macro

This shows one of the downsides of the Cloud solution -- youhave no version control and macros/features can disappear. Why I recommend the server solution so that you are in control of all the changes, and if there is not support for a critical feature in an update, you just don't move forward.

There is in a source editor you can install, that give you a source editor. I think use the source editor to use Regex to clean up the imported HTML. It is best to start with clean HTML when working with imported content. Once you have clean HTML, you can adjust the formatting using Confluence tools.
-
I assume it is controlled via JavaScript. So maybe if you have the browser console open, you can figure out which script is operating. The other option is to create your own code macro, basically a user macro that includes your JavaScript and wraps a standard code macro so that the two operations are separate.
-
Well the Cloud version does not support custom CSS, a downside to that version. What you need to do is to use the browsers inspect function to look at three things: * How your macro is actually rendered * Are you rules being loaded at all * Are there any other rules overriding yours
-
If you were on the server version, I would just say update the space/sites CSS, or even create a custom macro. Unfortunately, the cloud version is far more restrictive. So you get whatever they give you.
-
Why the nesting of expand functions? Can't you just have a standard code block inside the expand macro? My suspicion is that you are seeing a conflict between expand events, that toggling one, causes the other to toggle. It would take some work to debug, so it might be easier to just restructure the content. For example,…

Well maybe after you educate users and then clean up pages, it will stop. I have a long page of various RegEx patterns I use to clean out crap, for example, span tags: </?span.*?> Have fun!
-
I have been a Confluence user for probably 8 years now. And the only time I have seen this type of thing is from people copying and pasting from Word or from another HTML view (even of a Confluence page). Have you seen this with a different browser? Just trying to think of what could be affecting the entry of formatted…
-
Yes that is normal, but it will render properly when you view the page (make sure the macro is set to inline. To have it do otherwise wold require a more complex solution.
-
Yes, \s is for any white space character. To do some experiments to just print out the $body to see what it actually contains. It may be that $body itself is empty, but the macro instance is being wrapped with p tags when the contents are empty -- HTML wants the content to be wrapped with something. I did check one of my…

Ah, I assumed you were placing these short cuts on the space home page. Not sure what version you are on, but it is probably looking for the FULL URL. Which means you are going to have to insert a full link http address, and not shortcut.
