Are you just trying to paste the Word doc in? Are you using the import function? https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/import-content-into-confluence-cloud/ If you use the later, the images will appear in the page, but will also be listed as attachements. That is just how Confluence works. Or are you seeing…

Have you checked the logs (need admin rights) to see what errors it is throwing? And are you sure that the CSS classes you are refernecing are still available? It has been quite some time since Version 4 (I think 10 years).

This is a tough nut to crack. You could start with a page template, and have users ALWAYS start that way. But you also want people to be able to insert this table. The only way I can think of solving this is to write a plugin that adds a button to the editor ribbon. Clicking this button would run javascript to insert the…

With ordered lists, you can insert non-list items in the list by using a soft return (Shift + Return) at the end of list item before the content you want to insert, followed by a hard return.

I will assume you have administrator access/rights. Go to the admin section, and look for Layout tab. You can edit the various templates that format Confluence. Look for View Default Decorator - main.vmd You will notice that these layouts are written using Velocity (at last still in Version 6.x). If you don't find the eact…

The trick here is to wrap the content of your macro in a classed div tag, then adjust your CSS rules accordningly. <div class="myclass"> $body </div>

Yeah, it was #2. I misread this instruction: Change to the Linux user that owns the files in the Confluence Installation directory, for example As being the user running confluence, not owning the files. Doh! So the patch runs. Hopefully I can no get time to upgrade. F'ing hackers!

Cool. Good to know that a plugin actually works. ;-) And know we know there is a working solution for Cloud.

You can have a page with multiple child pages. So you can have your first Chapter as the parent page, and then each Chapter as a child page. If you have the righ plugin (Scroll PDF Plugin for example), you can then export the page tree as a single document, with each page as a Chapter. I have been doing documentation this…

The plugins will continue to function, You just lose the right to upgrades and supports. Your plan should be to upgrade to the latest version before you go of maintanence. This strategy can work well if you are going to stay at a given version of Confluence and not upgrade. Basically you just freeze your configuration.

There are times when I have to take a table from MS Word (or Outlook), and paste it into Excel, then into Confluence. I am not sure what causes the issue, but I am assuming that something hidden in the structure causes Confluence an issue.
-
WHen this happens to me, I just copy the page, then delete what I don't want on the new page. It goes fairly fast. And if you plan ahead, you can delete part, copy delete part, then clean up in the end. Sometimes brute force ends up beig the fastest to the goal.

Out of the box, with Confluence Cloud, you only choice is to take a screen cap of the chart on the source website (you can instert the HTML link below to recreate it. There is a commercial plugin available for Cloud that looks like it would work: html-macro-for-confluence-cloud

Keeo in mind that Confluence is not a word processor. The editor is designed for web pages, and has a limited options to keep a consistent look and feel across all pages, rather than having each page with a different format. If you are on the server version, you can update the default CSS for spaces or system wide. For…

Sure, please accept my answer if you are happy. ;-)

To rule out strange issues, try saving that file with a new name and upload to see if you are still seeing the issue.
-
You are on Cloud. You do not have that option. Best is to convert the files to Word, and use that route.

What you want will require engineering effort to accomplish. So time to engage a contractor. The solution can be as "simple" as a script that makes calls to both the Google Sites API and Confluence API. And then you will need special handling for any Google features. I have been involved before in a similar project where…

My suggestion is to write a user macro to do what you want. You will need cooperation from your admins to install the macro. AND you will have to install the macro each time you want to use it. You may also be able to do it for every page using javascript, but I will assume that your admin team would view that as needing 2…

By DL I assume you mean distribution list? If the list appears as a user, then you can have that user watch the page. If the DL appears as a group, you are out of luck.

Hello @Sundeep Bhatia , when you saw document, are you referring to a Word document? What is the file extension? Also, have you tried a different browser?
-
Which version of Confluence are you on? If you are on Cloud, your options are limitied. On Server, you could create a user macro to do what you want. And what kind of hint do are you expecting for a link?

Welcome to the group! I am locaed in Central Texas (Bryan) too!

That request is coming up on it's 9 year birthday. Probably will never happen, give Atlassian's track record on these long-term requests.

My first response is Good Lord! The real solution is a signle unified Confluence instance. You have two options: * Export spaces and send them to HQ to be imported * Using a publishing scheme like that from Comala combined with a workflow Either solution is messy, and far better to just have on Confluence instance. To do…

Sure. At the end of your bullet text, insert a soft return (shift + Enter). Then at the end of your table, a hard return (Enter), to start the next bullet.

I am not familiar with this plugin, but maybe there is a way to escape those characters, for example "\("?

To pile on, if you want pretty URLs, then you have to have unique names. If were OK with all URLs being "...pageID=122334" Then you could do what you want. It just isn;t practicle -- you need unique URLs, and you want to be able to change the page hierachy without breaking the URL (why you can't have…

Well the Import Word Document function allows you to break the incoming document into seperate pages based upon headings. For example, if you have a consisent structure, as long as each article has its title formatted as H1, then you can have Confluence break each h1 into a seperate page. Works well. But you must have the…

If you are talking about within Confluence, page breaks don't have any real meaning within HTML. You can mimic what you want by having your table of contents (ToC) on the parent pages, with the rest of the pages as children to the ToC page.
