With Confluence styling, you need to use the inspect function of the browser to see the rule that is being used. In the case of the ToC, it is using a high-level rule to style ALL links: .wiki-content a, .wiki-content a:link, .wiki-content a:visited, .wiki-content a:focus, .wiki-content a:hover, .wiki-content a:active {…

Under the Look and Feel tab.

The only way I can think of doing this with a user macro for your links that detects what space it is when forming the link. This solution would assume you have four different space names so that it would create a cross-space link when it sees User, Technical, and Logic, and then a local link when it sees it is in the…

Some observations: * Not all menu locations are extensible. I saw a list someplace but cannot find it now. * Did you try the tutorial as is? Did it work? * The tutorial says it applies to Confluence 5.x. Not clear if it is applicable to 6.x.

Or, you do it the dumb way, and edit the page on one server, copy and then paste into the new server (I often use the Source Editor instead). Then you just have to bring the attachments across. Quick, easy, and doesn't require admin rights.

@Mark Stewarthad both versions tagged, so not clear if Cloud or not. But if Cloud, they make it much harder than with the server version.
-
If you try the technique I describe, you will see that the percent column widths were preserved. And if you edit the column macro, you will see it takes a width parameter
-
Add rules to the global stylesheet to override those rules.
-
That looks like a two column layout and not a table. And it is the old Wiki markup code. From the editor menu, + -> { } Markup to open the insert markup function. You can paste it into the left side, and it will then do the conversion for you (tried it just now). Refer to the docs for how to do what you want to do via the…

The code-block-macro is your friend.

Assuming you want your docs public, is to go with a two server solution: an internal behind the firewall where you develop documentation, and use as your Intranet, and a second external server for customers only. The external doesn't need to have a big licenses or all the plugins (so read cheap). Then you can brute force…

This is why I recommend the server version -- it gives you much more control over the look and feel, plus control of when you upgrade.
-
Well the problem you have is the one you are seeing - Confluence stripping some constructs from your XHTML. I have tried editing the source view of a page, to add attributes (for example, resetting a list number) - but as soon as the code is saved, what I have added has been filtered out. And one way to inject the…
-
Yes, create user macro to wrap the image with whatever CSS directives you want, for example 90% width and centering.
-
Well I suggest cheating - create a simple user macro that formats the link how you want. Then your REST call can just inject the user macro. <ac:structured-macro ac:name="link_macro" ac:schema-version="1"> <ac:parameter ac:name="link">http://www.google.com</ac:parameter> <ac:parameter ac:name="link-text">External…

So none of the pages moved? Are there no page name collisions with the new space? And lastly, I would export the confluence log right after performing this operation to see what errors are reported there. It should give you more info to diagnose the issue.
-
Two steps: * Use the inspect function of the browser to see what the class names are for the element you want to change (you can often change the rules dynamically to test new settings). * Update your space/global stytlesheet with the new rules.

I can't speak to Jira, but for Confluence, I would take the dumb approach - do a full site backup of your Windows server, the restore that file to your Linux server. Relatively quick and easy.
-
Yeah, it looks like those methods are depreciated. Here is one thought, there is this method in the general utils accessible via Velocity ------------------------------------ getRandomSubSet public static <T> List<T> getRandomSubSet(List<T> list, int sizeOfSubset, Random random) Returns a randomized subset of the list…

N.B. I think that only applies to the Cloud version. I don't find the same option for the server version.
-
Your are highlighting the reasons I do not recommend the cloud version. The server version allows you to have your own CSS so that you can control the look and feel. Plus you can decide to upgrade or not to a new version. We test out any new version before moving - and upgrade when we are ready. And the user macros are…

Thanks, I have the dangerous power to do so! ;-)

Well sometimes knowing you can't do something is of value. Part of the reason is that the page hierarchy in Confluence is just the result of metadata. The pages are all stored flat (you can see it in the URL). So there is no way to know what is a child page of top-level page (or rather it would take a custom…
-
Well there are two approaches, but note first, every reviewer needs an account for your Confluence instance - basically one license for everyone in the company. Informal Approach Rather than emailing individual files, pages can be shared with individual users. stating what needs to be done. Also, anyone who edits a page,…
-
On the page you can't. You need to edit either the global or space stylesheet (CSS). The docs are here: Styling Confluence with CSS. Typically, I create a custom stylesheet for each client to style their Confluence instance more in keeping with their corporate branding. You can change local style by creating a user macro…

In past (back three years ago for another company), I used the reporting-for-confluence to create top-level management dashboards. I had reports showing each individual page, who the owner was, its status, when it was last edited, etc. I even used it to create a pie chart breaking down the over status of pages (management…
-
No, there is no way I know of to do this. Edit/view rights only impact the ability to edit or view a page (inherited from parents). But you can only restrict the ability to create pages at the space level.
-
OK, I am going to ask a stupid question. What is the urgency macro? I am aware of the status macro. I am guessing you need to change <ac:structured-macro ac:name="urgency"> to <ac:structured-macro ac:name="status"> Also, take a look at my recent article. You may get some new ideas, mainly on avoid the if-elseif tree. Also,…

Could you post your code?

Well I would strongly recommend against any scenario that lets users be in Confluence but still use Word. You will never get them to switch, and they will insist in staying in the Word domain (for example, aks you to export Confluence content to Word so they "can work on it"). I still have problems today, 2 years in with…
