Typically that option is referred to as nesting. And yes you can nest macros inside of other macros generally. There may be times when some functionality is lost, but your example should work without any issues.
-
@Jennifer Greiner yes, you have a bit of a mess. ;-) Let me take a look and get back to you.
-
You may have the option New users have access to this product turned on. If that is the case, turn off that option to restrict new users to invitiation only. Docs are here: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/update-product-access-settings/
-
Select ••• > Move. The Move page dialog box appears. Here is the doc page https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/move-copy-and-hide-pages/
-
Probably never. It would require a major change in editor and how pages are displayed. It is a fundamental difference between web and print. Specifically what is it that you are wanting to do in Confluence that is Word-like?
-
@Jennifer Greiner yes you could. You could either a) hard code the macro to always use that option, b) provide a check box for that option, or c) add listing such as "Red Lighter" with logic to toggle that option.

Would the Confluence Admin group not work? It would allow them to manage users but not complete control. The docs are here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/global-permissions-overview-138709.html
-
If you are an admin, you can find that info in the admin console. Under Administration -> Macro Usage.
-
Unfortunately, Atlassian is not doing a great job supporting user macros, so there are no notifications when things change. I would suggest trying to rebuild your macro starting with a blank page. Thier may some change in syntax that is hard to see. Also, is there may be away to do this with java objects and methods,…

So just blindly copying all the text and pasting into the page doesn't work well enough? The only other option I can think of is to save the email as HTML, open code/source view, then paste that HTML into an HTML macro.
-
Well you have HTML plus CSS code. I assume you are using the HTML macro from Artemis? If so, it says the CSS only implacts content inside the macro. Is that the case here? Their doc on settings is here: https://artemis.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SUP/pages/410845418/HTML+Macro+Cloud+-+User+Guide And you would have to check…

If you have rights to export a space on the source instance and the rights to restore a space on the target instance, it is just a simple export-import process. You just have to pay attention that there is not already a space with the same key in the target instance. Also, you should have to the same plugins installed in…

So when the macro fails to render, there is not a note in the log? Why not structure this line: <ac:structured-macro ac:name="include" ac:schema-version="1"><ac:parameter ac:name=""><ac:link>$includeline</ac:link></ac:parameter></ac:structured-macro> To be the following instead? <ac:structured-macro ac:name="include"…
-
Your "include page from var" references the variable "$includelineor1" but I don't see where it is defined. I see where "$includeline" is set, but not the other.
-
Could you provide the rendered HTML, to see how the renderer is actually displaying the macro?
-
Users just scroll down to the bottom of the page to view lables.
-
Generally no. But as a workaround, place the text you want to control in a include (or an excerpt) that you can then reference in your template. You can then set edit rights on the include/excerpt to prevent editing. Now a user could still delete the include/excerpt, but this method would get you most of the way there.…
-
I notice that your variables are offset with single qoutes, but then later, you where you are testing, you are surrounding the page name with double quotes.
-
To get your TXT into Confluence, you could create a Word file per final space with all the TXT files, with each article title formatted as heading 1. Then on import, select split on heading 1. The result will be one page per heading 1. It will take some work up front, but probably the fastest way to get content in. Docs…
-
I would agree. It is an all or none.
-
My suggestion is to refresh your page, then check the logs to see what errors are logged at that time. Often, it will flag the issues to give you a chance at debug.

@Olga Videc there is one exception and that is for 10 user, entry-level licenses. A few years back, Atlassian removed that option at that level. So I ended up buying a second 10 user license to use for developement. Atlassian Starter, Community and Open Licenses do not include free Developer Licenses. If you need a…

In a word (or two), you can't. Longer, you cannot set loser restrictions than the inherited persmissions coming from parents, grand parents, spce, etc. You solution here, is to move the page to the root level, then as long as users have rights to the space, they will be able to edit. Here are the…

I have worked in companies that are heavy PowerPoint and Excel users, and it always seems that any work get passed serially, and few ever try to edit at the same time. The other model is that when they want to collaborate that one editor opens the file while having a Teams meeting with the others. The problem is that what…

I have been using this paid plugin for years: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/169/multiexcerpt?hosting=server&tab=overview My use model is to have a page of excerpts, with the title _includes, outside the page root (so it does NOT appear in the lefthand navigation. Then each of the excerpts are named, making them…
-
How many times do they truly have more than one person working on a file at the same time? At any rate, there is this page that talks about editing in place: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/edit-an-attached-file/ It does not talk about what happens when a second users tries to edit (and I could not find…
-
There seems to be a third-party app that will do what you want: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1224338/confluence-code-block-with-tabs-by-converton?hosting=cloud&tab=overview It only shows one install, but it is early. I would request a trial, and see if it works for you.

I think you are seeing the escape character. unable-to-use-some-characters-like-backslash-223904158.html

Yeah, I typically create the backup before upgrade and copy to a safe location, but a bit late for that. You may be at the point of just doing a clean insatll of 7.14.1, get that up and running, then restoring the site backup to the fresh install. I have had to do that before. Seems one wrong step can really set you off on…
