Hi, As described here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/switching-databases-802592192.html The usual procedure is to take an XML backup of you H2 instance with your JIRA_HOMe and attachment directories, then install a fresh new Jira (if you're upgrading) connected to a blank MySQL database (should work…

Hi Yoram, Actually Jira considers each task as an independant task, even if subtasks are highly linked to their parent. it means that time tracking is not shared with subtasks (a Task can have an objective by itself, not only be a container). That being said, there must be a checkbox allowing you to include subtasks in…

Well bitbucket is a visual interface to manage your source code repositories using Git. I know there are easy solution to migrate from SVN to Git as it's kind of the new market standard but don't want to suggest you to rework all your way of working :) The interest of Bitbucket is mainly its perfect integration with Jira…

Hey Roberto, MySQL drivers can sometimes be source of some debugging so I'd definitely recommend a free an flexible solution, the most common I've seen and the one I use every time is PostgreSQL, it's also portable so definitely the best option in my opinion if your company does not have a preference :) Hope this helps!
-
I'm sorry but I,m proficient with Bitbucket but don't want to lead you in wrong path on building hooks directly on Subversion, I might not be the best person to help you out, hope this will be taken a step further by any other Champion or Community member :)
-
@Community Manager I definitely backed you before I read it again and saw the "sugar-free". Don't worry, I won't judge. I judged.

Hey @Monique vdB, have an idea here, would be please to share it on next slot :)

Very nice addition, thanks! Bringing some interesting content to our attention. Thanks :)

Understood, SSO between applications is pretty easy whenever you use a shared directory (e.g. Jira's directory in Confluence) :) If you connect to your AD or use Crowd (or even use Crowd to connect to your AD!), users are automatically in sync (based on a query to filter subset of users if needed). it means that your newly…

Hi Shivani, Won't help that much but I think it's a decision only your company can make. As you said, Cloud Services like AWS are well suited for your needs as network performance and scalability are great but in the other hand it's out of your network and needs a deployment phase with your own network (which is usually…

Hi, Definitely a good initiative. I would recommend you use bitbucket on top of GIT but if you're using Subversion/SVN and don't want to bring any change, you might have a commit hook which checks Jira through the REST API. If you can identify a Jira key in the commit message (using a regular expression?) you can then send…

Hi, That's a very interesting question, which would need a very long debate! SSO from desktop might be handled with plugins linked to Crowd, as you already own it. I would definitely recommend to get a single source of users (Crowd obviously) which can be connected to active directory easily. Groups can be imported as well…

Hi Carsten, If you're using Jira Service Desk, you can setup custom notifications easily. If you're using Core, you can still edit default email templates but it's going to be challenging to have different templates based on different user types (external vs internal). Jira core is using a single template for all users so…

Hi Scott, Could you please attach a screenshot for us to understand better. Can you also specify what browser you're trying to connect with? Thanks!
-
In addition to Alexey's answer, if you're not very familiar with migrtion you might also contact a Partner to help you during that process. That being said, if you're targeting a blank new environment it's generally not that complex. Good luck!

Hi Gianfrancesco, Locked field can't be setup a lot, and it's done on purpose as they are not standard field. Tempo Teams are managed by Tempo plugin and might differ from Jira's default field management. You might find a way to prefill that field with a default value using workflow postfunctions but I don't think you'll…

Hi Patrick, While I can't really speak in Atlassian's name, I'd say that estimation in Agile is meant to abstract time. That's why Story points are designed in such a way that you can edit them quickly. Also, Story Points are a simple number where time tracking is a more complex field which requires a different UI to be…

Actually, JSD email handler is based on email address which means that if you're tring to raise a request with an email address which is not the one in your Jira account profile, Jira will think you're a different user (there's no matching based on name for instance). That was actually the intent of that question. Hope…

Happy new year! I like @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- 's resolution not to take resolutions, safest mindset I guess :) As usual, focus on bringing joy to my family, getting a career I like and finding what's my next step and finally make the move. It's so hard to predict what's going next those days! Anyway, best wishes to all…
-
Hi JF, Just to confirm, your email address (from which you're sending emails to JSD) is the one associated with your account in Jira right? Thanks
-
Great, interesting! Thanks for sharing!
-
Understood. There's no need to be on the internet for your license to work. Even for a production license :) Atlassian's way to handle licensing is based on trust and hypothetical auditing after fraud suspicion. Your instance will stop working (or mostly) if your license is expired or your user limit is broken. Please feel…

All right, you might check this topic as answered then (or wait for other inputs :) ). EazyBI is not that simple to step in but is very powerful and greatly supported. Would definitely recommend you to try it out :) Cheers

Hi, You can simply query a customfield through the rest api using: customfield_14729 ~ "AA: Analystics" You can also create and save a filter in jira and use it to query the API (filter=10204 for instance where 10204 is the filter ID, in the url when browsing that filter in JIRA). Hope this helps :)
-
Great, please let us know if you face any performance issue, that might be a lot of people concern :)

Hi Viraj, You can pass HTML arguments to prefill your form as explained here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/creating-issues-via-direct-html-links-159474.html You can fill all fields, even custom fields (customfield_10001 for instance) that way, I've done that for a few customers in the past! Hope this help! Cheers

Hi, There's a field called "timespent" which you can query on and the Story point as well. That being said if you'd like a more sophisticated reporting with the gap between both for instance, you'd need to have calculated fields, and a reporting engine. There are various plugins for that (EazyBI is my favorite) or you can…

Hi Nicholas, From what I know, the attachment are stored on disk and as a database entry associating an ID with the attachment title and the attachment URI to make it simple. It means that no matter how the attachments are huge, that should not impact your performances (there is no such thing as preloading all attachments…

Hi Eleanor, The quick answer is "not out of the box", monitoring a specific field update is pretty hard with no development or plugin. That being said, the database stores all changes in issues so you can retrieve (via the REST API or direct database) that history and report on it using EazyBI for instance. Hope this helps!

Hi, It might need further investigation on your side but it feels like JSD is trying to create users with incoming email addresses when not matched to an existing user. This won't work if public signup is not enabled I guess. That's my 5 cents with what I could imagine from your description! Hope this helps! Let us know if…
