Has anyone had experience with tools like OpsHub or sync platforms such as Boomi, Exalate, Workato, or even Skyvia? I’m having a hard time finding anything beyond CSV export/import, and that approach feels pretty limited and risky from a data-loss standpoint.
-
Thank you - I saw that page. It was the only reference I could find at all. Given that this was an import to JPD I wasn't clear which Aha product was migrated; ideas or roadmaps, though I have a feeling it was ideas since they migrated to JPD and not Jira. (yes they're built on the same tool, but JPD is also very different…

How can people using automation for jira server tell if they are at risk for exceeding the limit? It doesn't look like theres a way to get answers from the interface. Would the cloud migration tool help?
-
Hi, thanks but is there a trick to this? I don't see anything.
-
Hi John, I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean. How can I keep it as a single project? Also is there any way to include the condition in the trigger to reduce the number of executions?
-
Wow, this is really, REALLY misleading then.
-
Thank you @Krista Stellar - I hope you'll forgive me for asking a dumb question, but are you saying that ultimately I only need to be concerned with the top 38 rows? Basically I will just do a search for each field? Here's the catch though - Jira has limits on CSV export. How can I export all of them? This is where a…

Are there any articles out there or tips on how to do this? I feel like I need to live with data loss.
-
You can delete it while it's in progress?

Atlassian may want to become a cloud-first company, but the people paying for the software aren't all going to feel the same way. It shouldn't be my way or the highway. What happened to 'don't (aggressively love) the customer'?
-
Yep, and that's the reason why I asked about all of this. I know Scriptrunner uses groovy all over, but I didn't know other plugins needed scripts to be written for post functions, and that made me think about what sort of scripts are being used and what language they are being written in. When I search for scripted post…

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- - I hope its ok to ask you this but since you wrote so much earlier I was hoping you might have some more advice. What does a statement like this mean? A job description calls for the "ability to develop post function scripts and scripted fields to call REST API’s and other applications"
-
@Ramona Scripcaru if XML was the only option why was site import taken away? This is a LOT of manual work, especially for an admin that has the sole responsibility of migrating everything.
-
@Kolesa JSC when are dialogs and fragments used in Jira? That's not me being a jerk, I'm really wondering - I don't know what they are.
-
Thank you - this is really great. I don't know any computer languages. When I look at jobs I often see lines like "Implement cross-functional department processes utilizing Jira standard and custom workflows engines, automation scripts and data-driven reporting tools." It seems unclear to me what scripting skills are…

So nobody has an answer? I had one hope, a guy who wrote "Unfortunately, they have to be rebuilt manually. Good news is that is a small effort for skilled Jira hands." When I asked HOW I got no response. I should have known it was BS.

Hi Jordan, Thanks but I'm trying to get through a lot of things and I can't find a way through. Like I want to move my boards and filters and the tool just doesn't do it. Someone once told me to use a dark feature but that sounds like it wouldn't be safe or supported. I tried asking a guy on Reddit but he never got back to…
-
There's a guy on Reddit who says its a small effort but I can't find anything to back that up. Can someone lay out the steps?
-
Thanks but this seems experimental. Dark feature? Am I gonna void my warranty doing this? What about filters and boards? How do I get those? What other things can I do with dark features?
-
Is there at least a list of instructions we could follow to do this by hand?
-
Is there a way to export all filters from the database so at least we have the JQL to copy and paste?
-
With all due respect, that only tells us what can't be done. HOW can I move dashboards? Filters? All manually? How is this easy?
-
If you want people to move to the cloud you need to make it a desired end point, not something that seems forced - and migrations need to be easy AND COMPLETE. User migration is a nightmare, as is moving over all of the pieces that the tool doesn't do. Dashboards? Filters? Are we supposed to just find all of this and…
-
@James Richards thank you for the information. How do I clean up users when they are in another directory? Like the comment above, the migration tool is telling me that I have users with duplicate email addresses and invalid addresses, but I can't fix them from inside Jira. If I fix them in AD won't I be damaging those…
-
Hi @Jesse Anderson - is this actually the answer? From what I could tell in the comments, this is broken.
-
Thanks - how do you know if (and where) apps are being used when they're being used for things like post-functions or validators, and nobody ever documented anything?
-
Thanks @Brant Schroeder - what you sent is definitely helpful, and I've read it, but my question boils down to one part, really one question, taken from the Assess phase of that guide: How is each app being used? Well... how IS each app being used? I don't know off the top of my head. Scriptrunner on its own seems like…
-
Ha ha ha Mr Crabs, that's great
-
Thanks @Garrett Gifford and @Rob Horan . Do I have to do anything with Access after testing a migration before doing another live one? Does Atlassian or anyone else have a site of gotchas or advice for migration?
